More and more, we’re seeing the trend of puppies and older dogs who are extremely uncomfortable with grooming exercises. For us, one of the most important things along with proper and healthy socialization for a puppy is introducing them to these exercises!
A great way to allow your dog to blow off some steam whether you’re in a pinch for time or there is inclimate weather is detection training! With my home made set up of some Tupperware containers and an article (a thin strip of leather), I’m able to keep the game interesting for King by challenging him and always making him work and problem solve.

Welcome Bert to our training program!
Bert is a Kangal x Anatolian Shepherd mix. Both dogs are guardian breeds known for their protective and territorial nature.
Bert's family needs assistance with his behaviour when welcomed guests arrive to the property.
Although we can not change genetics, we can provide Bert and his family with tools to make his unwanted behaviours manageable, including a reliable recall.
Brutus & Pumpkin are 10 year old pugs who sadly lost their owner and are now being loved and cared for by family. They have had little training during their lives, but the behaviours and anxiety when guests come over was a lot to deal with. They also acquired a 6 month old French Bulldog sister who they tolerate in certain situations but will also attack her in other situations. Given the holiday season, their family reached out to us for some help!
Here, we have both Brutus and Pumpkin on their place beds, helping them learn to relax and also give them a job (staying on place) so they don't have time to be anxious and reactive when guests come over.
These two little champs are proof you can teach an old dog new tricks! 😉 👏

🌟Student spotlight: Bean 🌟
Bean joined our training program due to severe separation anxiety.
Scroll through the pictures to see some of the damage that he caused in his home. Bean learned to become an escape artist and got out of every crate he was put in.
On top of the anxiety, he was displaying some resource guarding behaviours and needed some fine tuning on his obedience.
Our team of trainers worked tirelessly with Bean to reintroduce the crate, work on his behavioural issues as well as his on and off leash obedience.
Bean's family is able to leave their house now and not have to worry about what destruction they'll come home to, and most importantly, Bean is safe. He is continuing to work on his skills with his family, and as added enjoyment, one of the junior members of the house is working on scent detection and article indications with him 🧡
Our focus is building a relationship with every dog that joins our training program and helping owners foster the same relationship.
Support from our team doesn't end when your dog completes their training. We want to see you succeed and will periodically check in.

Meet Scorpion! 🐶🐶 Scorpion has joined our training program for his reactive tendencies and to build his confidence around things that make him uncomfortable! Scorpion is a prime example of why we do in home consultations. Scorpion has a bite history with strangers entering the home. However, this manifests from fear and insecurity. If Scorpion had come to our facility for a consultation, because he is very insecure, we may not see the problem behaviours to the fullest extent. While his bark carries a small punch, he did try to rush our trainer as you see at the beginning of the video. It is important for us to see your dog in your home where they are most comfortable performing undesirable behaviours.
