Today is International , February 27th! We founded the day 16 years ago to celebrate the bears and raise awareness of the threats they face. It’s been exciting and heartening to see it become a global event.
This year, our focus is on the need to protect moms and cubs. We’ve been airing educational broadcasts all week long and hope you’ll join us for two final events today: "Recycled-Art Project for Kids" at 12 p.m. CT and a special film screeing at 5 p.m. CT.
And if you're able, please donate to help fund the development of a promising new technology for finding and protecting snow dens. This is critically important as more industry moves into the Arctic, threatening denning habitat and putting moms and cubs in harm’s way.
