February is Pet Dental Month!
Dental disease is the most common ailment of pets in the U.S.A, spanning across all species and ages. Dental disease can cause serious health issues, or exacerbate pre-existing conditions. Your pet’s dental health is a crucial part of their overall health and wellness!
Routine dental cleanings are an essential part of preventative care. During these dental cleanings, radiographs (x-rays) will reveal teeth that have damaged roots, help determine dental defects, and locate the remaining root on broken teeth. Radiographs illuminate much more than the naked eye can interpret, so your pet’s current and future dental health are addressed appropriately! Our fabulous surgeon, Dr. Kayla, has provided some photos of before/after dental cleanings and some radiograph images that show how much of a tooth’s root is left in the mouth when a tooth is broken!
