We started out as an online event and somewhere along the line we became a community. As Covid winds down we hear more and more stories of our shoppers and vendors meeting and purchasing in person! Living in the great state of Maine I don’t have the opportunity to meet many of our vendors but today I got to meet JB Artisans Soaps. They were a new vendor with us last month but hopefully not the last time we see them. For anyone in Mass, they’re attending a wonderful show this weekend in Danvers and we highly recommend stopping in!

Yep, you read that right, SISE is looking for more vendors!

For those who don’t know, SISE is an online shopping experience that connects small businesses to a whole network of customers, and you only need to apply for the event(s) you specifically want to vend in so there is no long-term requirement should you need to take a break from vending in SISE. Those vendors accepted will be invited to our SISE vendor group to have easy access to admins, vendor-specific announcements, and even surveys on how we can make things better for our vendors!

While many of our vendors cater to dog-specific items and gear it is not a requirement, we have some amazing artists who make items ranging from amazing wax melts to plushies and bags you can color yourself! Going forward we are prioritizing giving vendors a minimum of a month's notice so they can prep and plan for their vending spot accordingly. To achieve this we have an application deadline of March 31st for the May event.

Our admin team is here to answer any questions you may have about SISE and the application process

For those who are new to SISE Unleashed, here's a little about what SISE is:

It started as an idea in March between a group of vendors. All of us not knowing how this pandemic was going pan out, as these small businesses are either run full time or part time. We all had premade inventory for upcoming events and festivals that were going to be canceled and knew we had to try something.

The group started as the Self Isolation Shopping Experience (hence what SISE stands for). Once things started opening up we had to pivot again and renamed it SISE Unleashed! We had such a great following we decided to keep going once a month and invite new guest vendors to join our original vendors!

We are so glad you guys have been a part of this journey either from the beginning, or the last few months, or you just joined yesterday! You all have made an idea become one of the best things to happen in 2020 for small businesses making dog products. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you for all the likes, shares, support, purchases, and most importantly being a part of the our SISECIETY(I'm trying to make that a thing 🤣). We truly appreciate all the members and vendors who have made SISE Unleashed what it is today in just 7 months. 🥰

So you’ve applied to become a vendor in an upcoming SISE Unleashed! Event and are wondering what happens next?

READ ON!

First, thank you for applying to participate in our event. We are so proud of the community that we’ve built, helping handmade sellers reach a new highly qualified audience.

Once you’ve submitted your application, and the application period has closed, the Evaluation Process begins. This is a two round juried process.

Round 1
Your application will be evaluated by 15 jurors against the following criteria:

1. Complete application: did you provide all of the information requested in a clear and concise manner.

2. Product presentation: quality of the photos submitted with your application, quality of the products (remember we are strictly looking at the photos in your application so be sure to choose photos that really show off your products!).

3. Website, if applicable. Is your website easy to use, does it act as a showcase for your products?

4. Online / virtual sales process: have you clearly detailed, in your application, what your process is for completing online / virtual sales.

5. Social Media presence: Do you have a Facebook business page and/or other social media accounts for your business? Is your business active on social media? The number of followers or page likes does not factor into our evaluation.

6. Shipping: are you prepared to ship to both Canada and the United States? This is a Canada/US event with buyers from both countries.

If your application successfully makes it through the first round, it will move to Round 2 where the final Selection Committee will complete a more in-depth evaluation of your products and determine their suitability for the event. This selection committee is comprised of 6 people.

What happens in Round 2:

1. The Selection Committee will review any areas of concern that may have been raised by our Round 1 Jurors. This review occurs only for selected applications. Applications that were rejected by our Round 1 Jurors are not given further review by the selection committee.

2. Applications are then categorized and evaluated against other applicants within the same product category. The number of applicants selected to participate from any given category will depend on the total number of applications for that category *and* for the event as a whole. Some categories, such as collars & leashes, are much more competitive as they receive significantly more applications than others. Therefore it may be more difficult for your business to be successfully chosen in a given category.

3. In depth review of the products being offered: This is where the content of your application really matters. Your selection and the products you will be approved to sell are based strictly on the information included in your application.

4. Final selection of Guest Vendors. Once our Selection Committee has reviewed all applications forwarded from Round 1, the final selection of vendors is made. Successful vendors are then notified via email and have 48 hours to accept or reject their invitation.

With each SISE Unleased! Event, our goal is to offer a variety of products for our shoppers, one that both highlights what’s available in the handmade market but also ensures that all vendors get a fair shot at a piece of the SISE Unleashed! Pie.

🚨Vendor Spotlight🚨 Run For Fun Training Treats!

This wonder Canadian team will be joining us this weekend fot the first time! These ladies are two sisters, Veronica (age 12) and Becky (age 10), who actively compete in flyball and disc with their own dogs. They also do trick training ’cause it’s fun! They use a lot of treats in training, so they wanted to make sure their dogs got treats they loved. Their mom helped them research some healthy and delicious treat recipes and they tried them out on their dogs until they found the ones they liked best. Now they want to share them with you! They make their treats at home in their kitchen with all human-grade ingredients!
