๐ฉบ Bute vs. Banamine โ Know the Difference!
When our horses hurt, we want to help fast โ but choosing the right pain reliever matters. Hereโs a general guide, but of course, always consult your vet: ๐
๐ข Use Banamine (Flunixin Meglumine) for:
๐ด Colic or internal pain
๐ฅ Fever
๐ง Soft tissue inflammation
๐ซ Avoid Banamine for:
Lameness or joint pain (Bute works better)
Dehydrated horses
IM injections โ can cause abscesses!
๐ข Use Bute (Phenylbutazone) for:
๐ฆต Joint pain or arthritis
๐ข Lameness, laminitis, or navicular
๐ช Muscle soreness or injury recovery
๐ซ Avoid Bute for:
Colic or internal pain
Horses with kidney/liver issues (without vet supervision)
Long-term use without bloodwork & ulcer prevention
