We are super grateful for all the support! 🥰

Thank you SO MUCH everyone!!! I had 10 dogs come in for nail trims this morning, I got lots of kisses from the dogs and had some great chats to everyone too. It was awesome and I even had some lovely BIG dogs come in too, who went well with having their nails trimmed on the ground. What fun!

Of the donations I know about, over $130 was raised for Little Pupper Helpers!!! Woohoo! Thank you all!!

The next date for the next free nail trim clinic is Saturday 7th September; mark it in your calendars and share with your friends and come along! I am happy to collect any donation for Little Pupper Helpers at any time, and I have their bank account details if anyone wants to donate direct to them!

**🐾 FREE Monthly Nail Trims 🐾**

I’m excited to announce that I will be offering FREE monthly nail trims for your furry friends!!

I will start it this Saturday, 10th August, and continue it on the first Saturday of each month thereafter.

🗓 Saturday 10th Aug, 10 AM - 12 PM
📍 Amy’s Little Dog Spa, 8 Usk St, Oamaru

While I am not charging anything for these regular clinics, I encourage you to choose an amount to donate and all contributions will go directly to “Little Pupper Helpers” to support their amazing local rescue work!

There are no catches, this is a FREE service to help the dogs who need it, please only donate if you can.

* Helping local dogs to keep their nails trimmed more regularly.
* Helping low-income families who cannot otherwise afford to get their dog’s nails trimmed as often as they need.
* Helping support the work of our local small-dog rescue!

Win Win Win!

All small-medium dogs are welcome as they will fit on my table space. Large dogs can come as well, *as long as* they’re fairly well behaved; you will have to hold your large dog securely while I will trim their nails on the floor.

Let's make a difference together—one paw at a time! 🐾💜

No need to book, all new and existing customers are welcome. Just come by between 10am and 12pm THIS Saturday!

Gorgeous wee P**i has been adopted 🥰

She is settling well into her lovely new home, and has been embarking on visits to the local rest home where she is becoming very popular 🖤

Thank you to her amazing foster parents for all their care of P**i over the last few months, to Animal Dermatology Canterbury Limited for helping P**i get relief from her itchy skin & ears, and to her new forever home for giving P**i the love and attention she has always deserved 🥰

Two of the girls have hernias which will need to be fixed when they are Des*xed. (The vets have said these are minor and cause no distress)

Des*xing is compulsory when these wee ones are a healthy age

We will only be looking at the best homes for these wee ones.
Please specify if you have a s*x preference when applying, because we will select homes we feel best suit each puppies personality.
This is not a "pick of the litter" scenario.

Fencing is a must.

Shih Tzu's require regular professional grooming (every 6 to 8 weeks) to ensure their coat and skin stays healthy.
This is not a personal preference, it is a necessity :)

Due to the large costs incurred with an entire litter of pups and their mum and adoption fee of $500 applies.

Please note: We are expecting an overwhelming amount of applications for these wee guys so assessing applications will take some time.

Lovely wee Mae has settled in well at her new home and has officially been adopted 🥰

She now plays and sleeps with her new brother Mikki, who is doing a great job of teaching her that not all people are scary 🖤

Mae was an especially anxious wee girl when she came into care, she had been through alot.
The time, patience and effort that her amazing foster Mum put in for months, and the patience and understanding of her new family to let her settle in at her own pace has really paid off ❤️

We are forever grateful for all of the people that help give these dogs an amazing life.
You're the best! ☺️

Opal's foster Mum says:

Opal is a lovely wee girl who has a loving nature and loves to be with you, whether its going for walks or cuddling on the couch. 🥰

She is very happy to sleep in her crate at night or in bed with you.

Opal has been living in a home with two other dogs but it would be preferable she went to an animal free home unless new owner was willing to put in a lot of time with her as she can be reactive to dogs.

No cats.

Opal may need some settling in time to adjust to her new home but once settled in she will be a devoted companion. 🖤

P**i has fully recovered from her ear infections with the help of her amazing foster family and the fantastic team at Animal Dermatology Canterbury Limited 🥰

P**i is now ready for adoption!

P**i is a 2 year old Cavalier x Lhasa Apso
She is:
🐾 Des*xed
🐾 Vaccinated
🐾 Microchipped
🐾 Registered
🐾 Flead
🐾 Wormed

P**i's foster family says:

P**i is a sweet girl who is slowly coming out of her shell.
She bonds closely with her “human” and loves being with them.
She adores going in the car or for walks, although she is not very fast.
She has a loud (big dog) bark and will let you know when visitors are here, but give her 10 minutes and she is their best friend (her shyness improves every week).
She LOVES her food, and has been known to climb on the dining room table in hunt of some 😅
Gets on well with cats and dogs and is starting to be more playful.

P**i's dermatologist informed us that P**i will need to be on a Hypoallergenic diet for the rest of her life, to assist with her ear and skin health.
This is a significant expense that her new family needs to be willing to accept :)

Today we had a Mum and her 4 six week old pups come into care after a family bereavement.
We are so grateful that they reached out and entrusted us at their time of need, and always happy to help ❤️

Mum has done so well with the pups, they are all chunky and healthy, and understandably she is a bit over them now 😅
Bichon x S**t Zu x Maltese.

Mum will be des*xed and available for adoption in the coming weeks, as will her babies 🐾🐕

Ready for adoption! 🥳

After several months in foster care and an ear surgery Mae is ready for her forever home!

Mae is a 2 yr old Cavalier King Charles x Lhasa Apso

She is:
🐾Des*xed
🐾Vaccinated
🐾Microchipped
🐾Registered
🐾Flead
🐾Wormed

Mae is a lovely sweet & gentle girl, who enjoys a walk and a wee swim.

Mae is quite a timid wee girl, and takes time to warm up to people, but once she knows you she is like a wee shadow and follows you everywhere.
Mae is not food motivated, so just needs time and patience to settle in. ❤️

Due to her quiet and timid nature Mae would not be suitable for a busy household or with children.
Mae would love to live with another easy going dog.

Since Mae's ear surgery she is able to hear better now and is barking a bit more at noises, but her foster Mum says this is improving as she gets used to her new hearing. 😅

Mae is currently eating Royal Canin Hypoallergenic and we have been informed by her specialist that she will need to stay on this diet for the rest of her life, to assist with her skin & ear health.
Both Little Puppers and Mae's Foster Mum have put alot of money and effort into helping Mae get healthy again, so this is very important and any potential adopter needs to be willing to commit to this diet.

Update 🥳

Great news!
Both Mae and P**i have had their specialist ear appointments! 🥰

Mae:
The vets at Animal Dermatology Canterbury Limited put Mae under anesthesia so as they could properly access the areas that needed attention.

They removed 1.5cm of firm debri from Mae's left ear which was making it impossible for the medication to reach her middle ear and clear up the deep infection.

Debri was also removed from the right ear and it was flushed and medicated.

They are confident that this will assist Mae with having healthy ears from now on! :)

P**i:
P**i thankfully has responded to the treatments given during her initial consults with the specialists and did not need the extensive ear surgery & cleaning that Mae received.
Phew! 😌

We are so thankful for their amazing care of Mae & P**i, they are fantastic ❤️

Both Mae & P**i will however always need to be on a Hypoallergenic diet, as it's clear they have sensitivity to certain foods, causing skin irritations and ear infections.

Thank you so so much to everyone who donated towards their care, we could not have done it without your support and these sweet wee girls very much deserved it 🥰

Both Mae & P**i will be ready for adoption in the coming weeks after they're fully recovered 🙌

We are on the look out for a foster home for an approx 18 month old female dachshund x Cavoodle (type).

She cannot be placed in a home with cats.

She isn’t fully toilet trained but has only had a couple of accidents inside, she is very much in the puppy stage and will pull all the toys out of the toy box.
