Help Us Continue Our Mission to Save and Care for Animals!

Dear friends, family, and animal lovers,

We are reaching out today to share the incredible work happening at M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit livestock and domestic animal rescue that has become a cherished sanctuary for hundreds of animals in need.

Our journey started as a small 30-acre hobby farm—a personal project created for enjoyment and self-sustainability. Over time, our love for these animals and our desire to serve our community grew exponentially.

What began as a simple farm has blossomed into rolling fields, safe shelters, and a place where animals of all kinds—dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, tarantulas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, and many more—find refuge. Our farm is not just a place of living; it’s a place of hope, rescue, love, and second chances.

Our Mission & Work
We are licensed, inspected, and approved as both a farm and a sanctuary, dedicated to rescuing animals in crisis. We take in animals from neglect, abuse, abandonment, or other dire situations, giving them a safe environment where they can heal physically and emotionally.

Our organization is driven by compassion and a commitment to ethical care, but sustaining this effort comes with significant costs.

On average, we spend about $10,000 every month on food, veterinary care, fencing, enclosures, supplies, and ongoing farm maintenance. Every dollar goes directly into caring for these animals and ensuring they receive the love and attention they deserve.

Why We Need You
Running a nonprofit farm sanctuary is a labor of love, but it’s also a financial challenge. We rely heavily on donations, grants, and community support to keep our doors open and ensure the well-being and maintenance of our animals. Without your help, we risk falling short on providing for these fantastic creatures who depend on us.

This is where you come in. We humbly ask for your support—whether by donating, sharing our story, or spreading awareness about the work we do. Your contribution will help us provide:

Nutritious food and supplies

Medical care and vaccinations

Fencing and enclosures to expand safe areas for animals

Emergency care for those in critical condition

Continued education and outreach programs

We also need donations to help sustain our ongoing projects. If you’ve been to the farm, you’ve seen the progress made on our fences and the new entrance. These improvements, along with new additions, require electrical work and infrastructure updates.

Our new buildings demand all-new electrical, heating, and cooling systems for the well-being of our animals. We partner with local family-owned businesses to keep our expenses in check:

Brittian Flowers and his crew at True Cut Saw Works, LLC. — custom cuts for our fencing

Big Frog Electric South — wiring for all buildings, kennels, and new expansions

You can directly support their work by contacting them:

True Cut Saw Works LLC
912-282-2964
Please tell them you want to donate to the &B Farm & Hatchery Inc.

Big Frog Electric South
912-662-1444
Please specify the same.

We will send you a donation receipt as a token of our appreciation for your support.

In addition, we greatly appreciate any donations of pet food or other feed!

You can donate wet or dry dog food, wet or dry cat food, or any other type of animal feed directly at our farm gates. Your donations of feed help us nourish the animals and keep them healthy.

We also need dog toys, cat toys, beds, carriers, and cages to make our animals comfortable and give them a space that feels like home.

How our farm & animal rescue/sanctuary operations work together.

Hello everyone! I have received a few messages asking about our unique combination of rescue/sanctuary and farm operations. Let me explain how we manage both aspects.

We are often asked about our process for different types of animals, so I would like to clarify. Our process for livestock/exotic animals is distinct from that for domestic animals (such as dogs, cats, and potbelly pigs), and I'll explain both.

One of the most frequent questions we get is "Are the sanctuary animals getting butchered?" and the answer to that is no - Never!

Here is how our farm and our sanctuary work together.

When someone contacts us and asks if we can take in an animal (livestock), we will only accept it after careful consideration and evaluation. We ensure that we are licensed to have the animal, have the available space and resources, and can provide the necessary care. This process is designed to ensure the best possible outcome for the animal.

When you contact us to surrender an animal, we will send you a surrender form to complete. This form is a legal document that states you are the legal owner of the animal(s) being surrendered. It also asks you how you want the animal categorized, which is an essential step in our process.

Farm Use (Green Tag) - The surrendered animal(s) will become part of our farm and could be bred, sold, slaughtered, or remain on the farm till natural death. (For legal reasons, it does state 'slaughtered'; however, the only tag color available for slaughter is a Blue tag, and I will explain our tags in just a moment.)

Sanctuary Yellow Tag: The surrendered animal(s) will become a permanent resident of our farm. The animal(s) could still be bred. The animal(s) will not be sold or slaughtered and will remain on the farm till the animal's natural death.

Under special circumstances and as a last resort, if the animal becomes a danger to humans, other animals, itself, or becomes uncontrollable, the animal will then be sold, slaughtered, or euthanized. This decision is made with careful consideration for the animal's well-being and is always a last resort.

The decision to check farm use or sanctuary is entirely at the owner's discretion, and it has no bearing on our decision to intake the animals. If we have told you we can take them in, the surrender tag is 100% your choice.

Since we acquired the farm, only two sanctuary animals have had to be euthanized, and one was sold. Please note that the previous owner was notified in advance.

The bottom of the form requests the identification and information of the animal (s) being surrendered, followed by a space for the tag number. We do not fill in the tag information until the animal(s) arrive at the farm.

On the day of the surrender, we wing tag, or ear tag, everyone who comes in and fill in the tag numbers accordingly. We then sign off on the form and email a completed copy for your records.

Now that you are familiar with our surrender portion, I can explain our tagging system. We believe in transparency in all our operations, and our tagging system is just one example of how we strive to keep you informed about our processes. This transparency allows you to understand and be part of our work.

Green Tags - Surrenders - Farm Use - For Sale

Yellow Tags - Surrenders - Sancarty - Not For Sale

Red Tag - Family/Farm Pets Not for Sale

Purple Tags - Exotic or Endangered - For sale but must have the valid licenses required and also be members of the Livestock Conservatory.

Blue Tags: Other/ Born - Hatched, For Sale/Slaughter - These animals are born or hatched here on the farm, or we acquired them by another means, such as auction sales or private sales where we purchased the animal. We have some farmer friends from whom we are buying calves or piglets, and they receive a blue tag.

When you visit the farm, you may notice that some have multiple tags. For instance, our USDA tags (for cows, sheep, goats, and pigs) will display a GA USDA tag. But also a color tag. Some of our goats are in a sanctuary and have the required USDA tag and the yellow tag.

You may see Christmas, who has both a green tag and a Red Tag. We dont remove the original tags, this still tells us that Christmas was originally a surrendered marked farm use but is now one of our farm/family pets.

While we raise pigs, cattle, poultry, lambs, and goats for sale for slaughter, they are never part of the rescue program.

We have regular families who, no fault of their own, had to surrender goats, chickens, ducks, etc, and are always welcome to visit. Your visits are not just an opportunity to see the animals, but also an integral part of our mission. By visiting the farm, you are helping us cultivate a community of care and respect for all animals.

For Domestic animals like dogs and cats, which fall under a different division of the Department of Agriculture, obviously, we dont ear tag dogs or cats. Still, we do microchip them and complete incomeing on outgoing paperwork. On the kennels, they are numbered and marked appropriately (pets available for adoption, stray hold, medical, and so on).

Potbelly pigs are required to receive an ear tag after the seven-day stray hold or owner surrender. Potbelly pigs are typically adopted out as companion animals, rather than for farm use. Here in GA, Potbelly pigs are domestic animals.

We hope this provides everyone with a better understanding of how our farm and rescue operate. We want to reassure you that every animal, regardless of whether it's a sanctuary animal or one we are raising for slaughter, is treated with love, dignity, and respect. This commitment to animal welfare is at the heart of our mission, and we hope it resonates with you.

Livestock Dog In Camden County

Update 10/3/25
***Update: Im updating this post to include the time/date and show the people the dog was released to. We met with the Sheriff this morning to obtain all the necessary records for this. This happened on 2/10/2025 aproxx 2:40pm ***

*Our original post is buried in Facebook, but we did post about this when it happened and can still be found on our page. I thought it would be best to make an updated post*

We were recently tagged in a few posts from Camden County about a livestock dog in need of rescue. AC checked the dog for a microchip, and it did not have one. However, they could not take the dog and told the poster to find a rescue, which is when several of you had tagged us.

We really appreciate everyone tagging us; however, we have made some changes regarding the acceptance of domestic animals from that county. (Dogs, Cats, Potbelly Pigs) Please know that our commitment to the welfare of these animals remains unwavering.

Typically, this would work by taking the dog, placing it on a 7-day stray hold. Have it examined by a veterinarian to ensure it is healthy and to determine if any medical attention is required. We would post on our Facebook that we have a stray hold and provide instructions on how to contact us and how to prove ownership if the dog is yours.

After a seven-day hold, the dog is now ours. At this time, we will microchip the animal or rechip the animal if necessary. Administer up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies, and initiate heartworm treatment if required or heartworm prevention. Schedule a spay or neuter.

However, the legal landscape in Camden County presents unique challenges. These challenges, which we will discuss in more detail when our lawsuit ruling is announced, have led us to make some difficult decisions regarding our intake policies.

A while back, a couple left a Great Pyrenees chained to the porch of a mobile home that they had moved out of, claiming they had given the dog to someone. The neighbors, after a few days, noticed the dog still chained to the porch, with no food, water, or shelter. They started to feed and water the dog, and when they realized the owners "forgot" to take the dog with them, they called AC They said they couldn't take the dog.

They moved the dog to their house and posted it on Facebook for over 2 months, trying to find the owners. They took care of the dog daily for two months. At some point, we were tagged, and we went to pick up the dog. The family filled out all the Department of Agriculture paperwork as if they were surrendering their own dog because, at this point, under GA law, the dog was technically theirs.

We checked the dog for a microchip, but it did not have one. Once the dog was taken in, we performed a seven-day stray hold ourselves again. At the end of the hold, we microchipped, vaccinated, and so on.

We video record stray hold intakes. We recorded ourselves looking for a microchip. We recorded our own process of giving a microchip. Displaying, administering, documenting, searching for the procedure numbers, and successfully administering and documenting the implant scan. This level of transparency is essential to us, and we want to keep you informed every step of the way. We are committed to being open and honest about our processes and decisions.

Two months later (almost five months since the dog was 'left'), a couple showed up at our gate (all recorded) demanding that we give them the dog back. We asked them for proof of ownership, which typically includes documents such as adoption papers, vet records, or a microchip registration.

We explained that the dog belonged to us, but that they would have to fill out an adoption form. We also stated that we would need to be reimbursed for housing and vet care. At this point, the dog had also been fixed, and the vet bill was already over $800.

They then called the Sheriff's office on us. The BCSO arrived, and we explained the situation, showing them all our Department of Agriculture papers, veterinary records, and so on.

Because the dog came from Camden County, the BCSO reached out to Camden County, where the Judge informed them that if we did not release the dog at that moment, they would have both Michael & Rebecca arrested and charged. This was not the fault of BCSO. He did his best to explain that we had had this dog for months, had all the state paperwork, etc.

At this point, we were forced to turn the dog over to people for whom we had no identification. To this day, we dont know the names; they showed no proof of ownership. They claimed the dog was microchipped, and we explained that it was not. We recorded the intake and the implantation of our microchip. We have never been reimbursed for any services.

Despite the challenges, our commitment to animal welfare remains steadfast. We made the difficult decision to no longer intake from Camden County to ensure we can continue our mission without risking our ability to help other animals or our licenses.

This didnt happen to just us, just a few days before (Or after), it was just a few days in between. Another local rescue had the same issue, and the same Judge also threatened to arrest her. A few of you also commented on that.

We want you to know that we will do everything possible to help you. We strive to provide the best assistance with questions, help in finding homes, and support in foster care. Our kennels and cat hotel remain full. However, we can't take the risk involved when it comes to Camden County (domestic animals). We are deeply grateful for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time.

I hope this update clears up some of the confusion and misunderstanding.

Good morning, everyone. This morning, we have our lawsuit hearing against Nader & Amanda Rayan. They are currently in the Camden County Jail, facing 44 charges. Of these, 40 charges have no bond, one charge has a $100,000 bond, and the other three have $17k and $11k bonds.

Please continue to pray for not only our family/animals but for all the victims involved in this horrific case.

Thank you both, Kingsland Police Department & The Brantley County Sheriff's Office.

Good evening, everyone. It's that time of year again. Palmetto Berries.

(We do pick ours; they do not go to waste)

PLEASE DO NOT attempt to trespass onto our farm to harvest palmetto berries illegally. Your safety is our top priority, and our farm is protected and monitored by 24-hour video surveillance. Both guard dogs and livestock dogs play a crucial role in preserving the farm.

THESE DOGS WILL ATTACK AND THEY WILL BITE.

THESE DOGS COULD KILL YOU IF WE ARE NOT ON THE PROPERTY TO CALL THEM OFF!

It's important to understand that our dogs are not inherently dangerous. They are accustomed to seeing hundreds of visitors every year, including kids, teens, and young adults, as well as many volunteers of all ages. They are not 'vicious,' but they do have a protective instinct towards the livestock and the property.

They see predators "jump the fence" or force their way through the fencing. When you enter our premises the correct way, the dogs dont see you as a "threat". The dogs are trained to protect the livestock and property from threats. When someone jumps the locked gates or the fencing, the dogs don't know the intruder's intentions; they know they're protecting the livestock.

Our dogs are one of our biggest attractions, and if you have been to the farm, then you have met our dogs. They love kids and people, but most of all, they love the livestock that they protect.

We do not want to see harm come to anyone or our animals. We cannot stress enough that our dogs are capable of attacking and biting. It's posted everywhere on our farm and fence.

Our dogs are monitored in real-time using cellular/GPS, allowing us to track their location, heart rate, movements, and more. This advanced system ensures your safety and the safety of our animals at all times.

We are deeply committed to ensuring a safe berry season for everyone. Please respect our boundaries and do not trespass. Your safety and the safety of our animals are our top priorities, and we are dedicated to providing a secure and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

We want to make it clear that we take trespassing on our farm very seriously. We will not hesitate to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Your safety and the safety of our animals are at stake, and we will not tolerate any actions that put them in jeopardy.

Owner Found!! ❤️❤️❤️

Cat found!

Late evening yesterday, we visited Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, GA. As we attended our close friend's burial, a cat approached and followed us the whole time. When we were leaving, it jumped into the car with us. We had the kids put the cat back, and again the cat followed the kids back to the car. We asked around, but nobody knew whose cat it belonged to.

No microchip
No collar

If you have lost a cat in that area, please contact us to verify. Must be able to identify and prove ownership. The cat is currently on a 7-day hold.

Good afternoon, everyone. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has had a profound impact on our farm & rescue/sanctuary. Whether you've followed our page, shared our posts, tagged us in your own, volunteered, donated, or been a loyal customer, your contribution, no matter how big or small, is deeply valued and integral to our farm's success. You are the reason we can continue our mission, and we can't thank you enough.

We also want to express our gratitude to our contractors, businesses, and rescues, like Pine Haven Stables & Riding Academy, Big Frog Electric South, True Cut Saw Works, LLC., Sammy's Septic Service, Compassionate Care Pet Cremation No Kill Glynn County, FabuCats Inc., Dr. Overman/The Pet Doctor, and many more.

Your support, from providing hay/stable space to electrical work, saw services, sanitation maintenance, pet cremation, vet/emergency services, has been instrumental in our journey, and we thank and acknowledge every one of you.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our friends and neighbors, & volunteers, including the Howard Family, Flowers Family, Ryan Family, Sanders Family, Genova Family, and many more. Your support and friendship have been invaluable to us.

We get so busy at times that we don't give everyone the recognition and appreciation that we have for all of you. We know none of you contribute just for the recognition, but for the kindness of your heart. We have a large following, and I can't name you all in this post. Please know we thank you all and appreciate every one of you.

We want to share with you the challenges we face in managing our farm & rescue/sanctuary. With our kids in school and multiple school activities, and my husband battling a serious health condition, we have a lot on our plates. We recently moved to the farm full-time and manage our own social media and events, which can be overwhelming at times. Despite these challenges, we are committed to providing the best care for our animals. Your understanding and support are crucial as we navigate these challenges.

We handle as many rescue calls, information requests, and texts at all hours of the day and night. And let's not forget that something always needs to be done, whether it's fixing, repairing, replacing, cleaning, expanding, or, as the favorite, p**p duty. Our days are filled with tasks, but we appreciate your understanding and patience when we get behind on updates. Your support means the world to us.

Most of all, the hundreds of animals that call the farm home love and appreciate all of you. From the special treats to the piggy belly rubs, your love, and support make a world of difference to us and our animals. We thank each of you for being an integral part of our farm community.

The farm is open to the public. Please call or message us to schedule a time. We don't have set hours due to our busy schedule, but we are committed to making everyone feel welcome and included. We can always make arrangements for a visit!

Admission is free. Teachers & homeschool parents, 4-H, and FFA members are invited to plan a field trip to see the many animals that call the farm home. Do you want to come by and give a cow a treat, or give Big Moma a belly rub? That's fine as well. We also encourage you to share this post with your friends and family, and invite them to experience the joy of our farm.

At our farm, you can pet the cows, the goats, our giant tortoises, Big Moma, our 500lb pig, who loves belly rubs. Meet our livestock dogs who protect our animals. Collect your own chicken egg, meet the ducks and the geese. Meet Cookie, our miniature donkey, and Pretty Girl, our beautiful pony. We also have Bob, Christmas, Mayonnaise, Ketchup, and Chocolate - the turkeys. Like lizards, snakes, and tarantulas? We have them too, and so much more. We can't wait to share these unique experiences with you!

We hope everyone has a fantastic day. Thank you again to all of you.
