Heā€™s a mini, still a youngster at 8 months old. Expecting for him to grow out between 14-14.5ā€. Once we have enough coat watch for him in the UKC shows.

Little miss Glitter is also looking for a family of her own. Someone active would be her preference. She has a great nose on her and is super social. Anyone and everything is her instant best friend. Big dogs, little dogs, cats, any person is greeted warmly by her. She rides the car like a champ, walks the leash without an issue and knows several basic obedience commands already. Sheā€™s crate trained, fully vetted and microchipped.

This little s***k of love is sure to bring joy wherever she goes ā¤ļø. Small enough to fly forever in cabin. We are expecting her to mature around 12-13ā€ and 12-13lbs.

Sparks is still waiting for the perfect family. We so enjoy his company and know that his match will to. He is a super snuggler who prefers your body as a dog bed šŸ¤£. If fetching is your thing? He is your guy. Sparks loves to pick things up for you. Balls, twigs, leaves, pine cone lol anything he thinks you might like. Heā€™s very human focused and pretty chill for a puppy. Weā€™ve worked on crate training and leash work and heā€™s a gentleman for both. Walks easily with you anywhere without dragging you along and loves car rides.

He is available to meet for qualified applicants. Bring the whole family because he loves kids! And if you happen to have a cat or two he thinks those are the best as well. In short heā€™s is super well rounded and would be a great addition to any family who wants a dog that participates in the family activities. Whether itā€™s eating nachos and watching football to hiking and hitting up a winery.

Eeeeekkk šŸ¤©šŸ¤©šŸ¤©šŸ¤©

Our second generation homebred boy Tico has just turned 2 last week. We watched his mom being born and then him in our home. Being able to have multiple generations here makes me feel filled with gratitude. Turning 2 means his OFA health testing has now been completed šŸ’Ŗ. And Iā€™m just elated to get his results back.

OFA Hip Good, Elbow Good, Eyes Normal, Cardiac Normal, DNA Clear ā¤ļøā¤ļø

This means he will now not only be paired in our own program but is also available to select females as a stud. Weā€™re planning a small standard litter (17-22ā€, 17-40lbs) with our own fully health tested small standard Penny for a rainbow litter of reds, black and brown phantoms this winter-spring.

When itā€™s raining, puddles everywhere but mom says I have 4 legs and need to walk šŸ¤ØšŸ¤£šŸ¤£.

Little Minx was not impressed with all the wet but pushed through it like a trooper. A nice pig ear to enjoy for the next week, just a little at a time, was the reward. Even as a wet rag sheā€™s adorable šŸ”„ā¤ļøšŸ”„ā¤ļø.

Sheā€™s our keeper so NFS. Sparks is still looking however ā¤ļø

I want to build on prior posts where I shared a video of Robin Miller and Alice at Aliceā€™s first barn hunt exposure and Felicia Mazure taking Glitter and Fancy to the agility club. Because it brings up some excellent visuals.

Puppy training for some seems the most daunting task ever and others see it as the most excited time. Now both Robin and Felicia are very experienced trainers and they fall in the excited side of course and make it look easy. No matter which side youā€™re on I always love sharing tips and tricks that we use here for turning the cute yet crazy little velociraptor you took home into a well adjusted adult.

What a lot of people forget is that we as the breeder only provide a foundation. A base for the new owners to build on. Not a finished dog so to speak. And if itā€™s not build upon it will crumble. Bold inquisitive puppies can become fearful. Kind and polite puppies turn into crazy rude jumping and barking things.

The philosophy we personally use is what trainer Ed Frawley coined and just stuck with me.

ā€œItā€™s never the puppies fault.ā€

That simple. We as the human control the environment for the puppy and therefore control the behavior be it a desired one or not. So readjust your expectations of what a puppy ā€œshouldā€ know. Instead set your puppy up for success by building on past successes. Robinā€™s video gives an awesome insight into what I mean. Alice already understands markers. Meaning thereā€™s a word (or clicker) that means youā€™re doing what I want! Robin sets her up by not having high expectations and keeping the threshold for success aka treats low. Just look at the rodent, then get close, then sniff. Smell the straw, scratch the straw etc. Thereā€™s a progression. She doesnā€™t immediately expect her to run excitedly to the rodent and scratch the straw. If Alice had done that it be great of course but by lowering the threshold to succeed she quickly got Alice to the desired outcome. Itā€™s like teaching our children to swim. We donā€™t take them to the deep end and just throw them in (I hope šŸ˜¬). Instead we use tub time, shallow end, and slowly ask more and more moving along as the child gets more comfortable. We donā€™t say well I can swim so they should be able to. Just as our children, in puppies we should guide and shape their responses by slowly raising expectations.

So the next time your puppy does something undesirable instead of getting angry because they ā€œshouldā€ know better, instead ask do they? Did I spend the time teaching the behavior Iā€™m now expecting?

What a joy to watch this team. The ease of direction from Robin Miller and how little Alice is just thrives on the instruction and encouragement ā¤ļø. The engagement of Alice wanting to do it right and the patience and support Robin gives her is outstanding. Our spotlight puppy is Sparks šŸ’„.

He is by far the snuggliest one and by prefers your lap to pass out on where the girls will put themselves to bed in their crate or dog bed šŸ¤£.

This super happy, genuinely sweet little man will thrive in any home that wants him to be a part of the family and come along with activities when possible. Heā€™s already been coming out with us to a variety of settings such as weekend afternoon youth football games, town for errands, feed stores etc (he is absolutely terrific in the car). Loves meeting new people and does great with our adult dogs. He adores cats and kids the most I think šŸ˜‰. Playful and always bringing stuff like sticks and leaves and toys retrieving is his thing.

What happens to the dogs that we retire? Or the ones that donā€™t make the program? We find them loving homes with people who adore them as much as we do ā¤ļø. Itā€™s the hardest thing about being a breeder imo. But seeing the dogs thrive in their new homes as they were here makes it all doable.

Pixie was one of those special poodles who made us fall head over heels for poodles. Sheā€™s been retired for a year and I finally had the courage to let her go and get all the attention for herself. She is living the highlife in California right now with one of her sons who is excelling as an SD and a bunch of Collie doggie friends.
Couldnā€™t have asked for a better fit ā¤ļøā¤ļø.

This is awesome šŸ‘.

We try and give as many options of suitable Service Dog prospects as we can. Sometimes itā€™s only one or two in a litter. Other times we have had as many as half the litter! Especially in our Pixie litters ā¤ļøā¤ļø.

The current litter is by her and we canā€™t wait to see what their testing will look like at 8 weeks šŸŽ‰

Are mini poodle puppies good with cats? Well, they think so šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. We have several cats here. Some are gentle tolerant creatures like our Sassy here. Others? Not as patient šŸ˜‰. It has taught our pups however to see the cats as friends and not something they must chase and dispose off.
