One week left on the Dood Ranch to grow and learn and play. They’ve had several days’ practice napping in a crate with a buddy. Today, we are trying solo. If they care, they’re too tired to say so. 😅

We’ve been working on using the doggy door to go out and potty. After playing outside for awhile, Minnie and I thought it was time to come in.

3 Weeks 🤍🤍🤍
They had a big week moving to their new pen, getting their first taste of mushy food, and getting up on their legs more solidly.
My favorite thing about this stage is watching them discover each other. All of a sudden, there’s a realization that there’s more to life than milk and themselves. They paw at each other and give the typical introduction…“Hi, I’m Posey. Let’s see if I can fit your whole face in my mouth. I promise you’ll like it!”

The newbies are growing like weeds. Meanwhile, last year’s pups are “all growed up” and living the dream 🥰. I love keeping up with all of their adventures. Getting pics like these every week never gets old.

Favorite hobbies include wobbling on shaky legs, bobbling heavy heads, snuggling with fellow wobbling bobble heads, and calling for, looking for, and chugging milk ..milk…milk.

Steve grew up with a few dogs in the background of his family’s life. During his childhood, dogs were a sometimes presence and did not take center stage in day to day life.

I get postcards from them all the time saying “Look at me! I’m having the time of my life, and I just love my family. Every day is a new adventure, and I got to go on a big vacation with the whole family! Don’t worry, I’m behaving perfectly. No, I did not dig those holes in the yard or chew my harness off…don’t believe everything you hear. Anyway, I’m so happy and doing a great job showing my people how to find something to laugh about every single day.”

Places to go, people to see
The puppy call teaches them that good things happen when they respond to a call. I want to send them home knowing that they have added safety built in because they have learned to come to a call. I’d say they’re catching on! Their brains know that pupupuppy = CHOW TIME!

Yes I know the muffin man. In fact, I am aquatinted with several of his colleagues as well. Between you and me, they’re cute but horrible tippers.

These little piggies went to the market. Those little piggies stayed home.
Norma goes next week for her 2y.o. hip and elbow certifications. If I were to bring along her favorite snacks for the ride, it would be watermelon, colored sweet peppers, and whipped cream. She comes running whenever any of those foods make an appearance. What does your dog love to eat that surprises you?
