I'm over the moon about this one! Today our study looking at how veterinarians are using liquid biopsy in real-world cases was published in the Journal Of Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA)! A huge thank you to the team that collaborated, and especially to all you veterinarians who provided patient outcomes.
This study showed that OncoK9 performance in the real world matches that established in the clinical validation study, and that cancer is found 90% of the time after a positive result followed by a workup. That is a really high real-world positive predictive value (PPV), and I am so excited! What's more, the NPV was 94% when used as a screening test, giving pet owners and the veterinarians that manage their care good peace-of-mind after a negative result.
