We humans are a weird lot!

Shelters are filling up with purebred standard poodles because the mixed breed designer counterparts sell for more. Breeders have trouble selling their full blood poodle puppies so they often either turn them into shelters or sell them as a mixed breed. All they have to do is let their poodle puppies stay fuzzy and not groom them like a poodle. Then they sell them for much more claiming they're a doodle of some kind.

We humans will, for some reason, pay more if we think we're getting a "designer" something. It's one thing to buy a faux designer bag, but we're talking about live animals.

Either go to a shelter, or if you want a purebred, go to a reputable breeder. But whichever you choose, remember these are God's living creatures.

Looking over my calendar, if you need dog walking, housesitting, drop in visits for care and/or to administrator medications, now is the time to book. Housesitting for major holidays in the next 6 mo is already booked but drop ins and walking is still available.
