Oreo passed peacefully in his sleep this evening. I’m heartbroken and angry he was taken from this world too soon. He was only 15 months old. DIM sucks.

He took his amoxicillin at 9pm and seemed fine but when I went back at midnight for his next round of metronidazole, he was gone.

My little Obi Wan. Gone far too soon. He was such a sweet and gentle soul. Just love and happiness radiated from him.

Our sweet Oreo doesn’t seem to be improving and I’m growing more and more worried that he has DIM. 😞 I am so grateful for everyone that donated toward Oreo’s care. He’s scheduled to see the vet again on Thursday for a follow-up. I’m hoping his remaining antibiotics arrive tomorrow. Right now he’s only been getting amoxicillin/pain meds.

Keep him in your thoughts! He’s only 15 months old and needs all the good vibes he can get!

Poor Oreo is really sick. He’s not wanting to eat much and he’s lost a ton of weight. Thankfully, Hollyberry Animal Hospital was able to see him this morning but our rescue funds are now completely wiped out. We still need to get his meds from the compound pharmacy and order some kibble we are almost out of.

We hate asking but if anyone can help by sending even just a few dollars it would mean a lot ! Trying to raise $115 to cover the meds and a big bag of Mazuri 🙏🏼

With the addition of these sweethearts, we are officially at capacity and will be closed to intakes (unless it’s an emergency) until we can get some adoptions/foster homes. If you are interested in fostering, please reach out via DM! We pay for any needed medical care and provide supplies to get you started, you just provide love and food and availability to bring them for any potential adoption/meet and greets.

Welcome seniors Trixie (chocolate sable), Pixie (waardy), Lupin (sable) and Onyx (DEW) to the Dook Nook! These precious seniors are between 5 and 7 years old and were surrendered due to their family’s increased medical problems. They were extremely heartbroken to let them go but we promised to stay in touch! They are raw fed and well cared for. I am having Trixie checked for insulinoma this week since she is the oldest in the group.

Welcome this beautiful boy to the Dook Nook! Noodle is 4 yrs old and an owner surrender. His family had to move and could not take him. He was very loved and is very sweet but a little shy. He hasn’t seen another ferret in 4 years!

Today we had to say goodbye to Finley. He was one of our personal ferrets and the oldest ferret at the Dook Nook. He started having seizures this morning and didn’t recover. My heart is so broken. While I knew this day was coming due to his age and condition (insulinoma and adrenal), I still was not prepared. He was such a joy. A pure precious joy.

Welcome this timid but sweet girl to the Dook Nook. She was abandoned in a park but fortunately found and brought to us 🐾

She is currently resting in quarantine while we make sure she is OK. We will have her seen by our vet for a wellness check, but we are guessing between 1-2 yrs old.

WOW!! We raised $404 through the AUCTION-KINDNESS MATTERS FERRET RESCUE !! Thank you to everyone who bid! We were able to get multiple bags of food, puppy pads, and litter PLUS leave a little in our emergency vet fund! 🩷🙏🏼🩷

Congratulations to 4 1/2 yr old Tsuki who went to a forever home on Sunday!

We babysat sweet Abbi (5yr old) for Lisa and family and they wanted to find a friend for her while here (her previous mates had passed away and now she was solo). Once Abbi was comfy, we started introducing some of our sweet girls to her and she and Tsuki hit it off on day one! They shared a soup bowl and from then on slept together every day until it was time to go home 🥰

Good luck little Queen! We will miss you!
