Everyone please welcome Mango and Milli!

Mango (orange boy) was obtained from a homeless person at a QuikTrip who was not equipped to care for a kitten. Amazingly, he already has a home secured with his rescuer! Mango is spending some time in my care so he can grow a little more and be cured of his ear mites before being returned to his furever home. 🧡

Miss Milli (calico girl) is a very sweet 5 week old that came to me from a friend of a friend. She was quite malnourished when I got her, but she has made huge strides already! I imagine she will be a chunky, healthy kitten in no time. 🥰

**Anyone interested in adopting Milli or Gingersnap (another foster kitten) can contact this page via DM, or email [email protected]**

I just realized I never posted these adorable 4 week old photos of Gingersnap!

She is growing like a w**d and has turned into such a fun, playful kitty. Her favorite thing right now is getting the zoomies and thinking everything is something to hunt and pounce on!

5 week old photos coming soon 😉🥰

Paws up if you're glad it's still the weekend tomorrow! 🐾 🙋‍♀️

Thanks to everyone who submitted name suggestions via Facebook or in person!
I'm excited to announce we settled on Gingersnap 🧡

This precious baby has been hard at work eating every 2 hours and sleeping the rest of the time, and it's definitely paid off - she's gained 78 grams in 4 days!! At 233 grams she is still a little under what a kitten of her age (2-3 weeks) should weigh, but I am so so thrilled with her progress 😻

Goodbye baby fever, hello precious little angel! 😻

This poor baby girl was found malnourished, covered in fleas, and next to a deceased sibling😞 The finder will contact me if she sees mom again, but considering the state of the kittens and the fact that mom had not been seen for 4 days, I don't have much hope for a return.

Despite getting a rough start in life, she is now warm, fed, clean, and so very loved 💖

I'll be taking name suggestions for this little one, so drop 'em in the comments! 🥰

This is a little bit belated but... PICKLES IS OFFICIALLY CURED OF FIP!!! 😻💚😻💚 July 20th was his last day of the 84 day observation period, and he passed it with flying colors!

Thank you again to everyone who made this possible! From donating directly, to buying the crochet "pickles", to just sharing his story and fundraisers, you guys made this happen! Thank you from the bottom of my little cat lady heart ❤😻

Now the fun part - ADOPTION! 🎉🪅

Pickles fought this awful disease for 6 months and now it's time for him to enjoy his well-earned life in his furever home! If you are interested in adopting a cat that is tough as nails yet sweet as a flower, email [email protected] to request an application!

It's official - PICKLES IS DONE WITH FIP TREATMENT!!! 🥳

I really can't believe the day is here that I don't have to give him another shot! When we started this journey I had no idea how we were going to pay for treatment, if it would even work, and how Pickles would respond to it. But 12 weeks later, we are officially done! We have now entered into the observation period, which is another 12 weeks to see if he relapses. If he does not relapse in that time, he will be considered cured of FIP!

I am so grateful to so many people. To everyone who donated or bought the catnip toys, thank you so much. We literally could not have gotten through this treatment without you, and I am so so grateful that you helped save my sweet foster baby' life 💚 I am also grateful to Dr. Pederson, whose life's work culminated in the making of this cure. Prior to 2019, FIP was a death sentence and many kitties have lost their lives because of it. I am so grateful the cure was available for my Pickle boy, and I'll be even more excited when it is approved by the FDA and becomes more widely available (and cheaper!)

As happy as I am about the end of treatment, I know we still have a long way to go. I will probably be biting my nails all the way through these next 12 weeks; hopefully they will fly by as fast as the last 12 and then he will be cured! Thank you to everyone who has followed Pickles' journey and offered words of support and encouragement. I tell Pickles all the time what an amazing, special boy he is, and I am grateful to all of you that can see that in him as well. And remember, Pickles is only a foster kitty, so if you have fallen in love with him on this journey just let me know and I'll get you hooked up with an adoption application. 😉🥰

Pickles has completed 21/84 injections, meaning he is a quarter of the way done with his treatment!! Woohoo!!! 🎉 🎊

I’ll admit, when Pickles was first diagnosed, I cried a lot. I thought, I can barely afford the cats I have, much less pay for a multi-thousand dollar treatment for ONE cat. I thought his fate was set. But I refused to give up hope. I knew he had so much life to live and so much love to give. Kitten Lady calls this “stubborn hope” and I’m now a full believer in it. I’ve seen what that kind of hope can do, but that hope would have meant nothing without you all. Every single person who has donated, bought pickle toys, and shared his story has helped give Pickles his only shot at life. You all bought into this stubborn hope as well, and I can not possibly thank you enough.

We’ve still got a long ways to go, but we’ve come farther than I ever thought possible. Pickles is thriving, and seeing him happy and healthy is the best reward of all. Please, continue donating and sharing his story so we can complete his treatment! If we can’t complete it, all of this would have been for nothing. But I know I won’t let that happen, and I hope you won’t either. As of today, we’ve got enough funds to cover his treatment until day 34, but he will need 50 more days of treatment after that! So keep sharing, keep donating, and keep hoping! Pickles and I thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts 💚💚

Hello all! I have been posting on my personal page about this, and have honestly forgotten to post here with all of the craziness. But I’m going to be better about updating, so here’s what’s up. This update will be long as I have a lot to cover, but subsequent updates should be shorter, so please bear with me. ❤️

Pickles (current 7 month old foster kitten) was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) in late January. He has the wet version with neurological symptoms. For those that don’t know, FIP used to be a death sentence. It usually presents as fever that does not respond to antibiotics, lethargy, loss of appetite, weight loss, and the wet version includes thick fluid that builds up in the abdomen and/or chest. Many FIP cats also have ocular and/or neurological symptoms (like loss of vision and ataxia). The symptoms often come on suddenly, and progress quickly.

Researchers have been studying FIP since the 1960s and have only just found a cure as of 2019. It’s official name is GS-441524, but most refer to is as simply GS. The discovery of a cure was fantastic news for the cat community, but there’s a catch. It has not been approved by the FDA yet, meaning it must be bought from overseas and is extremely expensive. The disease progresses very quickly, so cats that are diagnosed do not have time to wait for the FDA to approve it. Pickles is a large cat and his dose is higher than cats that do not have ocular/neurological symptoms, so the cost of his medication is ~$45 per day. Yes PER DAY. And he must have it every day for a minimum of 12 weeks (84 days).

Thankfully, my community has rallied around mister Pickles, and we are currently on day 18/84 of his treatments! I have set up a gofundme for people to donate through, and I am also selling hand-crocheted catnip stuffed “pickles” to raise money as well! So far we have raised $1,011.98!! But we have a long ways to go before we reach our goal of $3600.

If you can, please donate or share so we can give Pickles the shot at life he truly deserves. He is a fun, goofy, curious kitten that just wants to live a happy life like any other cat! The total cost can seem daunting, and I have cried more than a few tears thinking I would never be able to afford it, but I have been amazed by the love and compassion from not only friends and family, but from total strangers who hear Pickles story and feel led to donate to his care. If you are one of those people, I cannot begin to thank you enough.

And if you would like to purchase a catnip stuffed pickle (pictured below) simply comment and I will DM you to order! Pickles are $5 each and $8 shipping anywhere in the US! Thank you all for reading and supporting Pickles in his fierce fight against FIP! 💚

Who doesn’t love Pickles?!?! 🥒😍

Pickles is a 4 month old male who is looking for his forever home! He is combo tested negative, has started his kitten vaccines, and is current on flea/tick prevention.

Pickles is quite an opinionated kitten and he will tell you loud and clear when he wants attention! He loves rough-housing with his brother and would do best in a home with another playful kitty. Pickles is $75 to adopt, which includes his future neuter and the rest of his vaccines as well. Email [email protected] to learn how you can take this rambunctious and sweet boy home!

Socks’ only wish for Christmas is to find a forever home, help me make his wish come true! ✨

Socks is 5 months old, neutered, has started his kitten vaccines, and combo tested negative.

Socks is truly one of the sweetest kittens I’ve had the pleasure of knowing- he loves snuggling up and making biscuits after wearing himself out. His lips are black except the very middle where it is pink, giving him a look like he is constantly blepping 👅😻

Socks also has a special gift, he is able to make friends with ANYBODY! Out of my 4 cats, only 2 of them usually like/tolerate my foster kittens. But Socks has won all of them over and I’ve seen each of them grooming him 🥰

If you would like to know how to take this incredibly sweet and social boy home, email [email protected] today!

Please welcome the newest members of CGKR: Socks and Pickles! 😻😻 Socks (black/white) and Pickles (black) come to us from Guthrie, OK, having been the product of intact cats being dumped at someone’s country property 😞 The former caretaker is working hard to get the cats spayed/neutered but sterilizing 30+ cats takes a lot of work (and money!! 😅) So these two lucky ones got a ride to CGKR where they will be fully vetted before they are off to their forever homes! If you can donate towards their vet costs it would be a huge help as they need all their vaccines, combo tests, deworming, and spay/neuter! (Approx $500 even with discounts 😱) You can donate through cashapp $crossingxguard or message the page and we will figure out what works best for you! 💜

It’s official, Mama Rose went to her forever home today! She was an amazing mama to her babies, but now she gets to be the baby 😻 I’ll be honest, her adoption has been the hardest of any of my fosters; I will miss her more than I can describe but I know she will be so happy with her new mom ❤️ It was such a delight to see this girl go from absolutely terrified and wary of humans, to coming right out when I entered the room and constantly pestering me for attention. Congratulations Mama Rose, I hope you enjoy your new life and get only the warmest of cuddles 🥰💞

I am so excited to announce that Mama Rose has found her furever home! This sweet mama did an amazing job raising her kittens, and now she gets to retire and live the good life with her new mom 🥰 Miss Rose will be getting lots of extra cuddles and loves while we count down the days until she goes to her new home. I will miss her for sure, but as always, and letting her go means I am able to help even more kitties in the future! Congrats Mama Rose, you don’t know it yet but you’ve hit the jackpot 😻❤️

Hello everyone! I have had an active page on Instagram for several years now () and now I am bringing it to facebook! Follow for adorable pictures of cats and kittens, all while helping support a local rescue!

A little bit about me: I am a 22yo veterinary assistant with a fierce love for any and all animals (yep, ALL! 🐛🕷🐝) I have been fostering cats and kittens for over 3 years and am working on building my own rescue. In my (limited) free time I enjoy listening to audiobooks, crocheting, and of course hanging with my cats 😎

A little about what I do: My main goal is helping the most vulnerable kittens grow into the strongest of cats! I specialize in orphan neonatal kittens (newborn-8 weeks old) but I have also fostered older kittens, mama cats w/ kittens, and adult cats! I am always looking for ways to continue learning so I can help as many kitties as possible!

How you can help: I am pretty much always in need of monetary donations to cover the costs of food and medical supplies for my fosters! Sending supplies directly is also very helpful! You can donate through cashapp $crossingxguard or visit my amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ls/?ref_=navm_em_lists_0_1_1_5

And if you can’t donate, that’s okay! Sharing my page and getting the word out helps my rescue grow too! 😽
