We love how fearless our woolly weanlings are! Problem is when they become hay pirates and hold up the truck, you can't shoo them away 😆 Hopefully our last load if hay until spring. Both the groundhog and broodmare Pita predict it will be soon if we can trust shadows and shedding

Thanks to Westfalen NA we have pictures of golden girl Nori from her inspection! 💛 She was a bit shy that day, hiding behind mom, but there was no hiding her lovely, elastic movement - her highest score. We are so happy with how she is developing, and its wonderful looking back at her in her summer coat, as she is very cute right now but as wooly as a bear!

Thankful for the horses in the field, the hay in our new barn, the footing recently laid on the arena, and my husband who has helped make every one of these dreams a reality and has only demanded foal snuggles in payment.

SAFETY FIRST! "Reggie" (Dona Regina) demonstrating proper safety gear at the barn construction site. Or maybe... her head was the only place she couldn't reach to grab the respirator with her mouth... we won't tell!

Once again a million thanks to Iron Spring Farm for helping us create such a wonderful baby who makes us laugh every day.

Delanora (Deja D'Or x Prado) is four months old now! And boy did she show off her moves when she snuck into the arena with her 11 year old gelding buddy, Theo, and got an impromptu arena session! She is so elastic in her movement and bold in her temperament. She left her mom to come play and was so lovely to work with... and was an excellent motivator for Theo to keep moving hahaha!

None of these photos are with her dam. They are all with "Uncle" Theo! Sweet boy was baffled by his little shadow, and tolerated her baby nonsense with aplomb. He's a good boy.

Excited to announce that after a lot of fretting, thinking, and foal snuggling (and in no small part, inspection result considering) we have decided to retain Reggie as a sport (and later broodmare) prospect. We love you Reggie, and are so excited to see what the future holds!

And yes, the little placard has many bite marks now.

Inspection success! Yesterday, at the hottest time of the hottest day of the year, we had a private Westfalen inspection for Reggie (Dona Regina - Uno Don Diego x Lynbrooke) and Nori (Delanora - Deja D'Or x Premie Dawna). Reggie was awarded premium foal with an 8.0 overall score! Nori wasnt far behind with a 7.7.

Both fillies were said to have good walks (hooray!). Reggie was give 8.5s for type and conformation, which thrilled me. And Nori scored highly for her elasticity - no surprise there, as she moves like a bouncy ball. Both foals did their best despite the oppressive heat, though Nori succeeded in hiding between mom and the arena fence for most of the at liberty movement.

Sadly, I didnt get a single picture! But I know the wonderful folks of the Westfalen NA team did, so hope to be able to share some eventually!

This weekend, the humans of TCSH got married in the farm! There was some worry that the horses, especially the foals, wouldnt handle the hectic atmosphere of a huge tent, vendors coming and going, 80 guests... we are so thankful that our guests respected the "no petting ponies without accompaniment", but even more impressed that Reggie and Nori didn't even bat an eye at any of it. And they loved our guests, large and small. The brains on these two girls are fantastic, and they helped make many beautiful memories for little girls, the event photographer, and imporantly, the bride and groom.

Hopefully some good professional photos to follow! Also, they will admit they napped HARD after everyone left 🤣

Delanora's (Nori) dad looking amazing! Both of Nori's parents are dressage superstars. This weekend I even got to see a video of her dam schooling half steps before her retirement to broodmare life! No question Nori will follow in their hoofprints.

It's official! After a lot of deliberation we have names. Delanora, aka "Nori" (Deja D'Or x Prado) and Donna Regina aka "Reggie" (Uno Don Diego x Imagining). These girls are maturing phenomenally, and we can't wait for Westfalen NA to announce their tour dates to get them inspected and registered!

Reggie (Uno Don Diego x Lynbrooke) had the zoomies in the rain yesterday! Loving watching her move - she is so balanced and correct.

We have had some soggy foals and dreary days, but the rain was well needed.

Apparently today was "Show Off Your Neck Day!" I'm so very pleased with how both foals are developing so far, and mesmerized by how different they are both in type and personality. Nori (GRP, Deja D'Or x Prado) is a little chunky monkey, with a reserved attitude that unfolds to show a confidence and sass once she knows you. Reggie (Uno Don Diego x Imagining) is a massively uphill, leggy girl with a total goofball attitude, thinking all the world is one big toy.

It is making the choice of which filly to retain oh so difficult!

Last Friday at a very polite time of 10:30, we welcomed this wee nugget, a German Riding Pony filly by Branley Ash Sportponies 's Deja D'Or, out of the stunning Westfalen mare Premie Dawna. This adorable filly is a little slow to unfold (she came out full term but a touch undercooked due to placentitis) so every day is a joy to see how much she has changed over night, slowly revealing her lovely build and elegant way of going. Cannot wait to see how she looks in the next few weeks! And as a fun aside, we are excited to do a DNA test to find out if she is buckskin or dun!

Dam, Premie Dawna, is on lease with us thanks to her generous owner Alanna Stefanek. We are so grateful.

This little girl continues to impress! Five days old and uphill, balanced, and sweet as pie. Can't thank Iron Spring Farm enough for this gorgeous baby by Uno Don Diego!

We welcomed Lybrooke's foal by Uno Don Diego bright and early on 4/18. Mom and baby are doing fantastic. As sweet as her mom already, this filly is tall and so very uphill. A little late to sharing so here's some photos from the past 3 days. We can't wait to share more pictures as she unfolds! She is already trotting around the paddock like an old pro.

This filly is tentatively available!

Meet the Broodmare:
Lynbrooke (TB), aka Alice just might be the sweetest horse on the farm. She has a winning and deeply people-oriented personality. In addition, she has been blessed with excellent conformation, a gift from her grand-sire, legendary TB sporthorse sire Giant's Causeway. Graceful long lines, paired with powerful hindquarters and a lovely neck complete the picture of a thoroughbred straight out of an 19th century painting. In 2022, we competed at the Retired Racehorse Project's TB Makeover, and at the Thoroughbred Incentive Program championships, after only four months of under-saddle, post-track retraining. Alice is a forward, wants-to-please mare with an active hind leg and an incredibly balanced and uphill canter. Alice has been accepted into Book I of the Westfalen registry! We look forward to her contributions to TCSH. She was bred to Uno Don Diego of Iron Spring Farm for her 2023 foal.
