We were wondering how she kept escaping the bathroom 😳☠️ #fostercatsofinstagram #NatsCats

💔Graphic content warning 💔 I was sent a video of this mother cat in the DFW area; an unspayed female with signs of prolapse is seen caring for her litter of kittens.
Prolapse, infection and labor complications are common especially amongst cats living on the street. Sickly mothers lead to orphaned kittens… and I sadly cannot even begin to explain how many kitten and mother deaths I have witnessed.
I will never forget one of my first cat-rescue calls… three kittens were rescued in an elderly woman’s backyard after she discovered the mother cat dead under her shed. The body of the mother cat was already showing signs of decomposition, and was stuck under the shed in a very difficult-to-access area. Nevertheless, I could not imagine leaving the mother cat there any longer. I didn’t want to wait for animal services to arrive hours or maybe even days later. I put on gloves and a mask and crawled to the mother, gently pulling her out of the shed. I wrapped her up in some bags and towels as best I could, so that she could keep some of her dignity whenever she was picked up.
I brought the three kittens home with me. I am an experienced bottle-feeder, but this trio had gone too long without mom and her warmth and milk. One by one they passed in the days to come. 💔
I share my story and this attention-grabbing video with hopes of raising awareness: It is kitten season and SPAYING SAVES LIVES. No, the pregnant outdoor cat does NOT want to have those babies. She is suffering with each litter, birthing kittens that are bound to the same fate 💔 Share this video to save a life!

Watch this longer version of our clean up process for this outdoor kitty 🥹 She needed a full bath, topical flea treatment, oral flea treatment, as well as meds for deworming and coccidia treatment 🤢 #throwback
There’s a lot that goes into cat rescue. We hear from so many people needing our help every day, but the reality is we can only help so many 💔 There is a ton of time, medication, money and care that goes into every cat we take in. I wish we had a proper shelter, a whole building dedicated just to the kitties, but right now we operate from our home or through fosters. In order to help each cat properly, we can only take on so much at once. This is a common problem the rescue community faces- I know I am not alone in this dilemma 🥺
I am so grateful for everyone who contributes to our efforts or who donates/fosters for any rescue or shelter. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for animals without a voice, and a whole lot of patience and energy to open up our homes and hearts. Keep fighting the good fight. 💜💜💜

You’ve gotta be kitten me!! How is it possible to be so cute 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛ #NatsCats #kittens #catrescue
Happy April! I hate to admit that March was a super hard month for me- I was hospitalized after a cat bite resulted in an infected tendon, then unfortunately I had a death in the family. I also work a “normal”, less fun job away from the rescue, so cumulatively it was impossible to load on more on my plate - not one cat was TNR’d.:-( Sappily though, we did spay and neuter 4 kittens and found homes for them all 💕 Today, we spayed our first TNR for April!
I am reminded that kitten reason is HERE- this small 10 month old kitten is only 6.5lbs and was advanced-staged pregnancy. It can be hard decision to spay a pregnant cat but after years of doing rescue work I can absolutely say it is the best choice. I’ve seen many mom cats and kittens die- spaying saves lives. 💕💕💕
If you would like to support our spay and neuter efforts, you can donate directly to our cause through our website, Venmo , or PayPal! If 10 people donated just $7 today, it would cover the costs of todays vet trip 🐈⬛

The North Texas Irish Festival was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help our team 💜 I can’t wait to deliver these four kittens to their new homes this week! 😻#NatsCats #CatRescue #adoptdontshop
Thank you everyone for all the kind wishes regarding my cat bite last week. I stayed in the hospital for three days on IV antibiotics and was discharged Tuesday with oral antibiotics. I am SO glad my recovery was quick and didn’t turn into something more serious 🙏
I was discharged JUST in time to go on a planned trip to New Orleans to see my dear friends Abby and Jeromy (two cats lovers!!) We saw lots of kitties in the streets of the French Quarter, and even got to meet this sweet ear tipped fella 🥹🐈⬛ If you’re from the NOLA area, I would love to know more about the TNR services in your area🙀 I am so very happy to see that these kitties get the services they need!!

A few months back, Nat’s Cats answered a plea for help from an elderly couple with a house full of cats—grown ones from previous litters, mother cats, and a handful of feral backyard cats. Notably, a feral mother cat gave birth to a delightful litter of four kittens. After allowing the mother cat to nurse indoors, we proceeded to TNR her and took on the responsibility of caring for the adorable kittens you see here.
We successfully addressed the spay/neuter needs of both indoor and outdoor cats, and during the North Texas Irish Festival last weekend, we found loving homes for all four kittens. Making a positive impact on the life cycle of these cats fills me with excitement and gratitude. Without our assistance, who knows how many more litters might have come into existence. 💜
