If you are looking for a way to help the wildlife in your immediate area or for a fun activity, I would recommend building a mini wildlife pond. With soaring temperatures this year, I have really seen our local wildlife, especially invertebrates and insects decline in their activities. We have made mini ponds quite often over the years after seeing the National Trust how to and they are always enjoyable to watch and see what comes to visit! 🐞 🦋 🐝 🐌

Cupaniopsis anacardioides (Tuckeroo, cashew-leaf cupania, carrotwood, beach tamarind or green-leaved tamarind) seed pods for habitat decor. Can be used with all tropical terrarium set ups including those for isopods, arachnids, mantids, crabs, and more. Pack of 10.
🌳 The seed pod is from the Tuckeroo tree, a species of tree native to Australia that has been used in Florida since the 1960's as a ornamental tree.
📏 This tree has small fruit pods, which are 2.5cm/ 1 inch in diameter and contain 3 seeds. No seeds will be sent only the dried pods as the tree is invasive in Florida.

If you are looking for a dish for your snail or isopods, these little silicone dishes are prefect! By adding soft or flake food into dishes and keeping it off the substrate, there is a greater chance to avoid mites or mold. These dishes also make great food dishes for juvenile geckos or smaller reptiles.

Eye Spy With My Little Eye...

🐌 For land snails, these eyes can be found at the tips of their longest tentacles. Meanwhile, aquatic snails have eyes at the base of each tentacles, giving them a more limited range of vision in comparison.

However, some underground species don’t develop eyes at all, instead relying on other senses to navigate. Generally speaking, carnivorous snails have better vision, while other snails can only distinguish light and dark.

🔎 Fig Sphinx -Pachylia ficus- moth found on a parking garage wall. It was 8 feet above ground in a safe little spot, hence the photo quality. Amazing find!
