Key spent over a 100 days at the shelter before we were able to find an amazing foster for him.

When Key first came to our foster on our borough break, he was having a severe dermatitis flare-up, which is the reason he was surrendered in the first place. His previous family couldn't afford treatment. The foster could tell Key was in an extreme amount of discomfort (photos attached of this flare-up) & that he had to get out of the shelter.

Key is a beautiful pittie bulldog mix & 2 years old. He has a heart of gold, hes kind, crate trained, and really the sweetest angel.

Now that Key is in our care & we have gotten him all the medical care he was in dire need of, he was prescribed antibiotics, a steroid, and Apoquel. We are happy to announce he is finally healing and feeling much, much better.

Key's vet bill, including the Apoquel, has totaled up to $500, and we are continuously raising funds to make sure he is set for the rest of his time in our care. He will need monthly checkups & blood drawn to make sure he is handling the Apoquel well on a daily basis.

As always, any & all help is appreciated. Key is such a special dog and we are so happy he is finally out of the shelter for the rest of his LIFE. I am so glad I was able to give him a second chance, he is worth it 🙂.

PUPDATE: Moo has been doing really well since leaving the shelter!

We learned that she’s a great candidate for a training program and because Pawsome Squad prioritizes each dog’s well being by requiring every adopter to have pet insurance and a training plan ahead of adoption, we decided to give Moo a head start and enroll her in this incredible training program!

We would love & greatly appreciate your help with funding Moo’s training program! Every dollar counts and no amount is too small! Thank you for caring about Moo and being part of her journey! We could not do it without you!

Pawsome Squad is not just a rescue. We’re a family of passionate volunteers, and supporters committed to saving the lives of homeless pets surrendered to NYC Animal Care Center and/or left abandoned in the streets of New York. The care we provide our cats and dogs, including behavioral training, paying for medical treatments, food, transportation, and ongoing support after adoption, make us one of the top local rescues in NYC.

Our animals may not be young kittens or puppies, rather animals that are older, medically in need of treatment, or traumatized/neglected by their previous owners. We take pride in the transformation of all our rescues; we help save and find a loving home to complete their journey. Since we don't charge adoption fees (but we do require the purchase of training or pet insurance), your donation helps us give them a better quality of life until they find a permanent home.

We ask you to continue to show your support for us this Giving Tuesday by making a donation so we continue to help more of those in need. If your company allows for matching, that will help us greatly!

Hi Everyone, I would like to share a video we made of Iggy to show the world what an amazing pup he is.Background:I was contacted by a volunteer from ACC about pulling Iggy. Iggy was a New Hope pup and our organization NYC Pawsome Squad is a New Hope partner that can pull dogs that are not available to the public due to certain conditions. Iggy was on the medical euthanasia list for perineal hernia which the ACC did not have the capability of treating. He was in pain straining to p**p and you can see how painful it was for him. The day before his euthanasia, we were able to find a foster and pull him out of the shelter and provide the medical attention he desperately needed. We went to AMC for an emergency surgery and it was a success.Iggy recovered successfully and is now ready for adoption! He’s a neutered 7 yr old male pittie mix who’s full of life and loves nothing more than to make you happy! He easily opens up to you and sticks by your side. We are working on his separation anxiety currently so anyone that adopts him will still have our support as a team to make sure he overcomes it. He’s good with people, and other dogs when introduced correctly. If you have interest in adopting Iggy or can please share so we can get him a forever home before the holidays, please comment below or visit our adoption pagehttps://www.pawsomesquad.org/adorable-animals/

URGENT!!!

We are looking for a foster take over for Iggy! He’s a 7 yr old Pit mix we pulled from the NY ACC medical euthanasia list. We are looking for an experienced foster parent to help train him on separation anxiety.

He’s obedient, friendly, loves walks and full of energy!

Gets along with other dogs if introduced correctly. But we prefer he be the only dog in the household while being fostered/adopted for now.

Please reach out to us in the comments if you’re interested in fostering/adopting.

Gucci is on the At Risk list and must be out by 12pm tomorrow, Aug. 27!!!

He has a re**um issue that makes it painful for him to p**p. The shelter has reached their limits of their capabilities to be able to identify the cause of his issue.

In order for us to provide advanced testing and vet consultation, we will need to pull him from the shelter and have a foster help care for him!

If you can foster, please help!!!

Behavioral Assement:

Gucci is shy but will open up for treats. It’s best to let him decompress and come to you when he’s ready.

He’s easily leashed and easy to walk. He’s friendly to other dogs but with the pain in his re**um, it’s best to let him recuperate as the only animal as he does get scared when someone or dog approach his re**um.

He was surrendered 2 weeks ago so he’s still adjusting to his new environment.

Meet Nana and Brownie! Both sisters came from Park Slope where they spent all their first 9 months inside an apartment with idea there’s an outside world.

We took them 3 weeks ago. Nervous and scared, but these two soon learned to become pups again and are so willing to learn all about the world!

Both girls are spayed, love to play, cuddle, and are very friendly with kids and animals. Nana is still learning that’s it’s ok to be left alone in the apartment/house for a few hours.

If you would like to meet these 2 adorable pups, contact us for the adoption application and in person meeting
