This week CLEO (Cleopatra) joined us at Atchee’s Foster Shack and already we couldn’t love this sweet little girl anymore. Cleo is a 3y/o Goldendoodle & Poodle Mix. She has the perfect peanut butter colored fur that is soft and wavy.

Cleo is a breeder-release pup. She also had her alter this week. So she has been spending a lot of time just decompressing and getting used to life in a home.

Cleo is so sweet. She is quiet, gentle, and loves to be near people. She’s not a lap dog, just yet, but she likes to lay close to us on the floor looking for pets and will fight every minute not to fall asleep.

She rode well in the car and seemed to enjoy her bath. She is comfortable with steps.
She enjoys going on walks and walks very well on a leash. Cleo loves to be outside but is certain to stay close to me.

Cleo sleeps in her crate at night and has been quiet all night with a clean crate in the am. She likes to spend time in her crate when she needs quiet time or looking for security.

Eenie spent the morning getting her last snuggles in with Atchee before she went home with her new Forever Family!! 🎉
Eenie is off to her wonderful new life and we can't wait for those updates to hear all about her adventures.

Eenie has been with us for over two weeks and has done a great job adjusting to our house and family. She has been such a joy to get to know! Eenie will make you laugh out loud with her happy puppy antics or melt your heart with her warm, loving, affectionate nature. And those big brown eyes, so expressive and sometimes so sassy.

Eenie starts and ends her day with a zest for life and her toys! She would love it if her new family had a large toy basket waiting for her. She will entertain herself for hours, taking her toys in and out of the basket. When ready for a break, she checks in for snuggles, hugs, and lots of “I love you kisses.” She is a great lap dog that loves belly rubs and long naps.

Eenie has been great with our 75lb dog. She loves to play with her. If playing is not on the agenda, you can find them snuggling together on the couch.
Although she will do just fine as a single dog, Eenie would love another dog to play with in her forever home.

Eenine also hopes her future family has a window or door she can look out. She loves to hang out by our patio doors and watch all the wildlife go by.

Eenie is very smart and treat-motivated. She is working on sitting patiently for her meals and ringing the bell to go outside. She has already figured out sit, spin, down, and crate. I think she has the potential to be a great “trick” dog in time. She is also very athletic and agile. She will jump up, on, over, and off any piece of furniture, person, or dog in her way. She loves a good zoomie around the house and never lets her leg slow her down.

Eenie = Fun! Fun! And more Fun!

Eenie is full of personality and playfulness. She loves all her new toys and is excellent at entertaining herself when we are not available. Eenie is a high-energy girl, plays hard, and naps a lot. She is very busy and on the move. She has shown some puppy chewing tendencies but quickly stops when corrected. Her new family will need lots of fun bones or chews. 😊
When she’s not playing, she loves to be near her people, snuggling in close to get lots of love, while giving sneak-attack kisses.

Although she is from a breeder farm, Eenie does not have the all typical challenges of a breeder release. She is incredibly friendly & social, confident meeting strangers, and good with most dogs. She is curious and adventurous with a touch of caution. She easily startles with new and different experiences/sounds, but her fear passes quickly and she is off to play some more.

Eenie is small in stature at only 10lbs. She seems smaller in person than her pictures seem to reflect. Her fur is a beautiful red-brown color with a tan undercoat. More soft than wiry. She does shed.
Eenie does have a quirky right hind leg. She will walk on her leg normally with her regular walk gait. However, when she starts to run or if the ground gets too cold, she will hold her leg up. She does not appear to be in any pain or discomfort. She is very agile and confident in her running and jumping. She is definitely NOT letting her quirky leg slow her down from enjoying her new life.

Eenie has shown great progress in housetraining, she has not had an accident in the house!!
She stays in her crate when we are gone during the day and sleeps in her crate at night. She sleeps quietly through the night and has a clean crate in the morning.👏
She loves walking to the lake and watching the water move. Maybe she'll be a great water dog come warmer days???

Eenie was good with her bath, rides well in the car, walks well on leash, enjoys her food, takes treats, LOVES a bone to chew, and is very happy to have a soft, comfy bed. ❤

Say hello to Eenie! Eenie has joined us in Atchee’s Foster Shack and we are so happy to have her! Eenie is a Pomeranian & Chihuahua mix. She is almost 1 year old (DOB 1/23/23) and weighs about 10lbs.
Eenie has only been with us for 24 hours, but we learned quickly that she is all about FUN! She loves her new toys and is super silly when she plays. Eenie is a very happy little girl and LOVES attention. If she is not playing, she loves to snuggle in close and give lots of kisses. She is very smart and motivated to learn. Already mastering her sit command.

Miley - Still Miley - 🥰 Found her perfect forever family and has been adjusting to her new, wonderful life. Here is a compilation of heart warning updates and pictures from Miley’s new Mom! ❤

What a big personality! I can’t believe how quickly she is settling in. She hates the cold! Refuses to p**p outside 🤦🏻‍♀️ still likes to let us know she isn’t happy about the crate but quickly learning it is 100% necessary for everyone’s sanity! She is doing good peeing outside (thank goodness!)
She discovered the toy bin is a great spot to hang out 🤣 and we have a dog sling/purse that she is quite content in!

Miley is doing simply amazing. Her confidence is building more and more every day. I think she now realizes this is home to her. She is still a prima donna with the cold 🤣 she loves her sweaters and the fireplace. I discovered that if I put her in her crate with her sweater on, she doesn’t fuss a bit!!!! She loves her toys! She is the best-behaved dog I have ever owned in my life. So chill, and such a little love bug!!! Yes, we are so pleased to have found Miley. She is amazing and brings us so many laughs and joy!

Meet MIley! Miley is a 1-year-old female Dachshund who arrived from Alabama about 3 weeks ago. She is all of 8lbs and is as sweet as they come! She has an unbelievably soft fur coat with the most beautiful colors.
Miley has been with us for about 4 days and has nicely settled into our home and routine. She is incredibly friendly and has had no issues meeting new people or other dogs. She LOVES attention and affection. Her favorite place is being held or sleeping in our laps. She does like to play and enjoys chasing any toy or ball. But… she is a low-energy girl and is always ready and willing for that next nap. She is very attached to her people and loves to follow us around, making certain she doesn’t miss a thing.
Miley is very adventurous and curious. After she figured out how to get back down the stairs, she was off and exploring the house. She loves walking around the yard and checking out the birds.
She is working on house training and will do her business outside but does not know how to ask to go outside just yet.
Miley sleeps in her crate. She had a few things to say the first few nights but quickly settled down and slept quietly every night. And she keeps her crate clean!
Miley also has things to say. She has the cutest grumble when she plays or convinces you to pick her up again. 🥰
Miley is a happy, fun, confident young pup who will make a wonderful addition to any family.

Our lovely Lady has found her perfect place with her new family! The best part ... she has a new brother who was so happy to see her. If he looks familiar, you're right! It's Fluffy alumni Jeffrey! Lots of happy times ahead for these two pups and their Mom and Dad! Congratulations!!

Lady has been doing great getting used to living in our home. She is adjusting nicely to the sounds and activities that come with everyday life. She continues to be very quiet, calm, and a low-energy girl. She is an extremely gentle and affectionate pup and LOVES a good snuggle session.
Her favorite things to do???
She loves to lay outside in the grass and watch the birds or just take a nap. She loves to lay around in her bed, she thinks it is so comfortable. And she loves to sneak up on the couch for a good afternoon nap. So happy to have LADY join us in Atchee’s Foster Shack!
Lady is the cutest 5-year-old Wheaten Terrier weighing about 30 lbs. Lady was recently groomed relatively short because her fur was so poorly matted. However, she has the softest, white coat with the cutest gray-tipped ears. She also has the most soulful, expressive eyes that will melt your heart.
Lady is an extremely snuggly, affectionate pup. She loves her pets and scratches. She slowly moves right up next to you with those big beautiful eyes and sinks into your lap. She is very calm; a rather low-energy girl. She has slept quietly in her crate every night and keeps it clean till morning. She has not had an accident in the house. She is very quiet. I have not heard her bark or make any sound yet. She is also very comfortable riding in a car.
Lady was a breeder release so everything seems to be new to her and she is working on trusting new people. She is interested but cautious, of new sights, sounds, and experiences.
She is making good progress walking on a leash and is good with other dogs.
She loves sitting outside in the yard and watching all the activities. But, when it’s quiet time, she loves her new big bed and will happily settle in for a nap.
If you are looking for a mature, quiet, well-behaved, affectionate….possible lap dog???

*Must be able to walk ALL sizes of our wonderful dogs and not leave any paws behind.
*Must be able to walk for at LEAST 2 hours of the shift (ideally first two, that's when everyone needs out fastest) -be physically able to walk that long!
*Be committed to walking on a semi-regular basis!!

(Walking dogs is not a way to meet dogs for adoption; we seek those who truly will exercise our dogs and volunteer!!!) 🤭

The second update came from Henry (FKA Bolt)!
Henry's new Mom sent this update with some great pictures.

I can't believe Henry has been in my life for almost 7 months now; his personality has come out so much in that time. He absolutely loves to swim and will dive all the way underwater. He comes to work with me every day and we are in the middle of our second training class. He is getting groomed on Thursday because he has super thick, Fluffy hair now. (check out that b***y shot, so much fur!)
We recently took a trip to Lake Michigan and Henry swam several times a day 🙂

What a handsome, happy boy!
I think Henry is living his best life! 🥰
