Congratulations to Dolly! Our recent High Distraction graduate did very well with her owners thru all the Obedience work, then really dialed in for meeting other dogs, people, and kids in public spaces. These are foundational skills for a good family dog, and mission-critical for her potential Service Dog training.

Here she is after a long walk at a nature preserve, sporting a spiffy Good Doggie bandana to match her leash. Great job, Dolly!

This was a topic in a conversation with a client just last night. It's all about Leading your pack!

Does your dog pick toys or balls up and shove them into your lap while your resting? This is a demand behavior that also gives your dog the impression that it controls interactions with the human.

Humans are the ones who should control the interactions with the dog and that means that you start and end all interactions.

Every breed of dog has natural instincts that should be fulfilled or redirected. A tracking dog should be able to use its nose and explore under the supervision of the human. Hunting breeds should be allowed to fulfill their hunting instincts as well.
