To our valued clients:
We hope youโve had a wonderful holiday season, and are looking ahead into the new year and your goals for the in-progress and upcoming sporting season.
We want to take the opportunity to thank you for a great year in 2022; your ongoing support and trust in us means so much.
With that being said, the start of a new year brings change; we have both grown as practitioners and have been developing individual skill sets to meet the demands of our patients. As a result, we have outgrown the premise of Horse and Hound Therapies and feel that rebranding ourselves as species-specific practitioners will allow us to focus on the modalities that have been successful to date.
As we navigate through this process, please reach out to your individual practitioner with your questions or appointment booking requests.

Work It Out Wednesday- our PEMF machine in action this morning with a canine friend. Presenting concern of stiff on left shoulder. The PEMF machine quickly found not only was the left shoulder a concern but the whole front assembly of the dog! This video is of his โgoodโ shoulder.
Is your canine friend ready for fall activities? Ontario is seeing an instant weather change to fall tomorrow.
Our canine practitioner Abby was at the Oakville Kennel Club dog show. This is a big weekend for Flat Coated Retrievers having multiple shows over three days including a National Specialty. Some of the competitors were starting to show minor stiffness in shoulders and lumbar spine. A session with our PEMF unit has them more comfortable and moving freely.
Rolling into the driveway after a busy day of sessions like:
Itโs so HOT!!! But, whoโs already tuning up their bike/scooter for dryland season? Itโs true weโre almost into a busy fall circuit across ON and QC. Have you also thought about having a tune up for your canine athlete?

HUGE congrats to TWO of our sponsored riders!
Lori Downie and Eve Veldhuyzen both qualified for NBHA worlds in Georgia!
Wonderful job, ladies! We couldnโt be happier for you!
Smiles for miles from Flynn during a lunch-time PEMF session.
His session today was a stark reminder of what compensatory patterns can cause in the body: Flynn has a primary issue in his left front leg, which causes tightness and pain in his right hind.... but when silly boys do silly things, like slip and slide in the mud, this causes the tightness through the lower back and right hip to be exaggerated. No dig deal you say? Oh, but it is! Because the right hind is part of his compensatory pattern and he now can't bear as much weight, the LEFT FRONT now seems worse for the wear.
Never fear - BOTH regions received pulsing today!

Bobby is an enthusiastic participant in the self-selection of essential oils used in his sessions. Oils are curated based on the individuals' problem list and options are offered one at a time, to allow the horse opportunity to make the choice for themselves. His selection of lavender and geranium during his latest session had the barn smelling lovely! #equinecraniosacraltherapy #craniosacraltherapy #aqha #dressagehorse #selfselection #selfselectionforanimals
Hank is a SUPER good boy, that suffered a spinal stroke several months ago. While he has made excellent progress, he still drags his hind toes on one side from time to time. This video is of his "good side", showing the reactivity in the tissues from compensating. PEMF therapy helps keep these areas from becoming too tight and sore, which would predispose him to further injury. #pemftherapy #pemffordogs #caninepemf #mastiff #mastifflife #caninerehabilitation
Post-performance pulsing can help recover from the rigours of competition. Our athletes love their jobs and put their heart and soul into giving us their best; sometimes to their own detriment. We can help them recover faster, getting them back in the arena performing at their best.
Think your horse wouldnโt get anything out of a PEMF session? This boy is happy, healthy and sound. He is lightly ridden and isnโt pushed hard by any means. As we see in the video below, heโs reactive over his back, and had several HUGE releases during his session. Give us a shout to get your equine partner scheduled for a session - the results may surprise you! #pemftherapy #happyhorse #tensionrelease #pemfforhorses #equineathlete
Take a look at what CST can do! After one session on this poor pup that was kicked by a cow, we have Macey well on their way to recovery! Excellent job, practitioner Abby!
๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฃ๐ ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐! Hereโs Wolf, shaking his tail-feathers during his latest full-body session! Cute, right? Totally. What you canโt see though, is that when light pressure is applied to the hamstrings, a pulsing can be FELT, even though you canโt see it. Because the hamstrings are reactive, and sit right up against the muscles involved in tail movement, we are able to see the tail twitch when the loop is applied. So, what does that mean for Wolf? Heโs in training currently; mostly flat work and ground poles. Appropriately warming him up and getting those hamstrings activated and stretched are super important to prevent injury, and necessary to keep this lovely boy healthy. And this is 100% information his owner needs to know! This is preventative PEMF at its finest! Itโs not enough to pulse; to do so with intent and knowledge can change your โgameโ - literally! #pemf #pemf4horses #pulsing #horseandhounddifference #pulsingwithpurpose #thoroughbred #preventativepemf
SPRINTER Season in Ontario starts April 12th!!! Is your dog ready? Has the winter weight slowly crept up? Are their muscles less toned? ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ! Carter is a regular patient of Horse & Hound Therapies. He is a young quarter horse gelding that has recently been broke to ride, and receives regular sessions to help keep him performing his best. As a young horse, he's still learning how to use his body correctly. This can cause him to get some sore spots while being corrected through his training. If you watch closely, you can see his MANY releases in this video as some targeted areas are being worked on. Want help keeping your athlete performing their best? Send us a message to get an assessment booked!
โ๏ธ SILENT INJURIES โ๏ธ Meet Snickers, a 3 year old indoor/outdoor cat. Snickers lives a very active lifestyle chasing bugs, climbing trees and leaping over tall buildings (thatโs what he tells us). Snickers had his annual health exam with his veterinarian. Physical exam was excellent with no concerns including a non existent pain score and no lameness. Afterwards his owner elected to have a PEMF session. PEMF found reactivity over both sides of his pelvis. Soreness not detected on physical exam, a silent injury. One would not expect to see this on such a young, healthy cat but through a wellness session we are able to target a problem area and develop a PEMF schedule to overcome his pelvic discomfort. Want to start a wellness program for your horse, cat or dog? We would be happy to discuss your companions needs with you.
