Consolidated Grains in Cunderdin are on the hunt for their new Poster Boys & Girls!!
The company is running a competition in search of some poultry & birds to be the new faces of their products rebranding. The lucky winners will have the opportunity to have a professional photoshoot, where the selected photos will then be used on their bags of feed! I've been assured by the company that winners will be able to keep a number of the professional photos and also compensation for their time in supplying the birds 😁 This is an incredible chance to have one of your birds on a feed bag that is distributed all over WA, with the company hoping to expand into the east coast!
Follow the link to fill out the form and upload your photos! Note: there is no option for waterfowl, however I suggest still submitting some photos 😏

Having a buddy on the morning duties is fun (until the pram gets bogged 😂)! Looking forward to starting up the show season in just over 2 months 🌟
Dolly duck has the right idea of how to stay cool during this unbearable heat 🥵 We are in for another 5 days over 41 degrees. Safe to say this summer has been relentless!
Like a lot of other breeders, we mix our own custom feed mix for our ducks and geese. Mixing our own combination of different feeds ensures all of their dietary needs are met! The palatability of the duck crumble, with the added grain mix and lucerne chaff, plus vitamins & minerals keeps them looking fabulous all year round 🌟
Having the support of a fellow breeder means that even when we decide to take a season off from breeding, we still have the opportunity to bring in new birds. Forever grateful for our continued partnership that just keeps improving this breed year after year! Excited to have some young Pomeranians on our show team for 2024 and they'll be valuable additions to the breeding program later this year ❤
Moving day for the 11 week old Chinese goslings today 🎉 They've finally graduated to the big pen with the rest of the geese. Looking forward to watching these guys mature over the next few months 🤞🏻
Our last group of Appleyard ducklings for 2023 are growing out well! Unfortunately our duck to drake ratio is a bit slim pickings this season, but hopefully there's a few nice drakes to retain from this year. We'll have some drakes available at the end of January 😏
This group of ducklings are the offspring of the beautiful drake we purchased from Clearview Poultry: and our #1🌟 duck Dolly.
Taking a moment to reflect on our most successful show season to date 😱 If you'd told me 4 years ago when I started breeding and showing that our dining room table would look like this at the end of a show season, I would have laughed in your face. So incredibly proud of not only the show team, but a pat on my own back for sticking it out through all the tough times and hard work; and also competing this whole year while pregnant 😂Some call me mad, I call it dedication because how rewarding it is to breed and preserve rare breeds, and the hard work is finally paying off!

That's a wrap on the 2023 breeding season for us 👏🏼 Everyone is back in with their friends and super happy about it! Our incubator is still running with a few more Appleyards on the way over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed for some more 'Dollys' 🤞🏻
The first of our Appleyard ducklings graduated to the big kid pen this weekend, under the watchful eye of some of our pet ducks 🥰
The first of our Appleyard ducklings are growing well 🤗 A couple of exciting pairings this season and really looking forward to seeing what they produce!
Starting them off young with the afternoon chores 🙊 We've both been getting a bit restless being inside so much over the last 3 weeks!
My 'not breeding this season' went out the window 🙊 We ran a trio of our white Chinese together for a few weeks and took a chance on our pet Sebastopol goose to hatch out our only 6 fertilised eggs for the year. Unfortunately after a week, she got off the eggs for a whole day and I thought all hope was lost. The eggs were popped in the incubator and incredibly all 6 have made it to hatch day and are progressing well! So excited to have a small manageable group of babies to look after this year 🤩
Last week was a big week for us! We had a very small team competing at the Perth Royal Show, and then an earlier than expected arrival of our little miss 💜
Cannot thank the volunteers and organisers for looking after the birds so well at the show, and to those special people behind the scenes that helped get them home 😂
We were awarded Best of Breed with Dolly our super star Silver Appleyard, and a Pomeranian Goose being awarded Best of Breed AOV.
The new main man on the block is a bit of a s***k 😏 He needs a name, so if you've got a good one, throwing our way!
Oh Dolly duck 🥰 Just has the best show girl attitude!
Good luck to everyone competing at the Perth Royal Show tomorrow! The poultry pavillion looks incredible 🥰
Starting off the day with some fresh babies 🥰
Safe to say, everyone's happy ❤ Huge thankyou to Andrew Brown from Clearview Poultry: Welsummers, Anconas and Silver Appleyard Ducks for allowing us to add a new pair of Appleyards to our breeding program! Excited to see what they produce crossed over our birds from Travis Boehms lines 🥰 Great to have some fresh Silver Appleyard bloodlines in WA!
Latest additions to the stud are on their way 🎉
The new Kids on the block 🥰 They travelled super well and have arrived safely in QLD! All the best to Travis for their future!
Thank you Sundance Stud for our new pair of Pomeranian’s. They made the journey all the way from Western Australia to south east Queensland.
Rosie's day made 🥰 The love this dog has for ducklings and goslings is incredible to watch!
Our first Silver Appleyard for the season is making a hasty entrance! We've cut back on the breeding with the geese this season, to run a more focused program on the Appleyards. Super excited to have some new Eastern states additions arriving very soon 🙊
Beautiful cool mornings on the farm lately have made for some nice sunrise photos ❤
Mr Swag supervising the duck wash station ahead of tomorrows show 😂🛁
A pair of our Pomeranian geese started their journey to Queensland today 🎉 Excited to see our bloodlines on the east coast, fingers crossed we haven't missed the season and their new owner cam get some babies on the ground this year!
Fresh goose eggs 🤤
We have some fresh goose eggs available at the Beverley Ag Show today! For eating or decorating as they're unfertilised 🍳🎨
If not all gone today, I'll have some more available and coming to Perth on Monday 😁
It has begun 😏 While we are 'taking a break' from breeding the geese this year, we're taking the opportunity to focus on our Silver Appleyards 🤞🏻
Goose butt nuggets 🥰

Dolly's got a lot to say about her win today 🥰 Such a beautiful nature on this duck, super excited to see what she produces this season!
If only everyone was this easy to wash for a show! Time to put the butt down and feet up for a bit before a very early morning tomorrow 😴
The ganders enjoying a fresh drink in the pool this morning 🥰 It's been nice to see the bachelors getting along well since they've been seperated from their girls! Only a couple of these boys will get a chance to father some offspring this season as we take a break from breeding 😴
Our pairs of geese at the WA State Poultry Show, taking out Champion Goose Pair 😁 We entered a Young Pair of Pomeranians, Young Pair of Australian Settlers, Adult Pair of Brown and White Chinese. Huge thankyou to WAPA for being so accommodating, the pairs loved their little set up and we're super relaxed!
17 of our geese ventured out to the Bullsbrook Young Bird Show this morning, and what an effort it was! We were the only exhibitor but was super pleased to support the show and present a few different breeds. We took along Australian Settlers, Pomeranians, Brown and White Chinese and a Tufted Roman 😁 Our Pomeranian Goose Panda was awarded Best Goose ❤
Super please with 2 of our young Silver Appleyards, they are shaping up very nicely! These two were bred from birds gifted by Travis Boehm and it's another one of his breeds I'm proud to be continuing ❤
Looking like a feather apocalypse around the farm at the moment! Moulting season is almost at an end thankfully; hopefully the doona crime scene looking goose paddocks clear up of stray feathers soon 🤞🏻
Some of Sundance Stud's Chinese geese gearing up for a busy year of shows 😍 Half a dozen of the 2022 youngsters are missing from the video, but 7 of the adults were kindly given to me by Travis Boehm before he passed. It's been a privilege to keep his hard work going, and exciting to see some of his progeny surpassing their parents in quality ❤
The sight and sound of 60 VERY happy geese! First time herding them across the property to the dam and it went a lot smoother than I expected 😂 The dam looks so much bigger with something on it!
The 2023 flock ready for bed last night 😁 Starting to gear up for separating the ladies and gents as the Chinese get ready to start laying. We've been fortunate with our dry hot summer that it's pushed our season back. There are plenty of friends and 2022 goslings already laying at their homes in Perth 😱
2 of my personal favourites from our 2022 goslings are these strapping young fellas 😍 Both bred from adults we were lucky to have purchased from Travis Boehm, and I like to hope he's as proud of them as I am! Chinese are a very hard breed to get proportionally correct (good height, refined Swan neck and head features, and an elegant upright compact body), but I feel as though we are on the right track with these boys in the future!
So exciting seeing so much potential in this seasons show flock! We bred some wicked youngstock in 2022 that I believe surpasses their parents quality 👌🏼 Always striving to improve what we have! We'll be out in force this 2023 showing season showcasing our passion for geese with this group, and I can't wait!
