😢‼️🚨 BEING EUTHANIZED IF NOT RESCUED!
His family reclaimed him just to starve him and leave him outside in the heat and during storms.😭 His story is breaking our hearts! He is being euthanized because the shelter is full 😭😭😭

A few years ago we impounded him for running loose. The owner came and reclaimed him. Well we got a call about a dog at a house that some people were trying to work on. We get there and it’s this boy. Abandoned by his owners, thrown outside, underweight, and hungry. But still doing his “job” of protecting the house and family. Of course he was fine once we got him. Super easy going and quiet boy. Pretty sad story and really crappy of the owners.

This is a courtesy post. This is not a Chap's Chow mix.
I have a Chow/Golden Retriever mix named Autumn to surrender
to someone that would accept her. We rescued here from the
Dekalb Animal Services. I can't remember the exact date but
about 6 or 7 years ago. My wife has become allergic to her and
we need to find her a new home. Her name is Autumn, she is
spayed but not up to date on her vaccines.

This is a Courthey Post. This is not a Chap's Chow. My name is Sydney Ojemuyiwa, and I live in Powder Springs, Georgia. I have a Chow Chow named Simba that I got as my 16th birthday present. I’ve had him for 2 incredible years (I’m 18 now) and he is the sweetest dog ever and I’d say he’s more like a Labrador than a Chow. He gets excited every time he sees me or someone in my family. He loves to play and get his belly rubs. True to his Chow nature though he is laid back and loves to sleep more than he plays. He’s good around people so long as they’re introduced properly but he likes women more so than men (he’s very cautious/ aloof around men). There was an incident that happened a few weeks ago that involved him and my 4 year old niece. Simba was asleep and despite the many warnings we gave her to not get in a dog’s face, she ran around him and got in his face. He woke up startled and ended up biting her in her face. We ended up having to take her to the hospital where she had to get stitches in two places (two stitches under her eye and four stitches to sew her lip back shut). Needless to say, we are all severely traumatized by this incident especially my little niece. Because we had to take her to the hospital, animal control was alerted and came to my house to talk to my mom and I about our future plans for Simba. My sister isn’t comfortable with Simba being around her or any of her children because of this incident. My nieces come over often and we’ve tried to separate them but it’s not working. Right now I don’t have any choice but to give him up to animal control, re-home him, or euthanize him. There is no one who can take him and I really don’t want to have to put him down. I know that if he goes to animal control they will have to kill him because that type of environment will make him aggressive due to anxiety. I’ve been searching for a place that can take him that doesn’t discriminate against Chows and I came across your website. I really need help. I don’t want to kill my dog because he woke up scared and did the first thing that came to mind. This whole situation is just so unfortunate and I feel like I failed my dog. I have a limited amount of time left to decide my dog’s future. If you are able to help or know anymore Chow rescues that are able to help me please kindly email me or text/ call me or my mom. Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated as we are in dire straits.

Bear is a neutered blue male chow and is two and a half years old. He weighs close to about 75 pounds and is a big sweet "goof-ball" He really loves his backyard and it is easier for me to let him go outside than to walk him as he gets so excited that he pulls all of the time. This is a Courtesy Post. This is not a Chaps Chow Rescue Dog: Elliot is a male 10 to 12 year old Chow mix. Neutered, utd on all vaccines but he is heart worm positive. He is undergoing slow kill heart worm treatment due to his age and because of that he has to be leash walked and live a pretty calm lifestyle until he tests negative. He walks great on a leash and rides great in the car. He is crate trained and house trained too. He is ok with other dogs as long as they are ok with him but he would probably do best as an only dog or with one that is of a similar energy level. He tested ok with cats also.
He was found in terrible shape as a stray in Gwinnett County and ended up on the euthanasia list at the local shelter. He was pulled in mid October and has been in foster care since.
He needs an owner that is familiar with his breed and knows how to handle the chow traits. A quiet home with no small children would be best for this sweet boy to live out his life curled up by your feet while you watch tv or read. He enjoys taking walks or just lounging in the sun while you work in the fenced yard.

Maggie was born on 05/24/20, weighs 50.2 pounds, and has been spayed. She is up to date on all of her vaccinations and is HW negative. She lives in Hayesville, NC. Maggie is precious but cannot get along with her sister. The owner says “We made the big mistake a by adopting siblings.” The owner hates to see Maggie go, but she keeps attacking her sister. Bear aka Blue Bear is a 2 year old natured male chow blend. He is UPD on all of his vaccinations, heartworm negative and on monthly preventatives. He weighs about 65 pounds. He is a very loving boy and loves treats and lots of loving. He gets along very well in the pack of chows. Sunshine aka Sunny and Sunny-Bunny is a 3year old female chow, who is spayed, UTD on all vaccinations, and weighs about 45 lbs. She gets along well with all the chow in the pack. She has separation anxiety and needs to be with other dogs rather than being left alone. Ideally, a home with retired people or a person who works from home who seldom leaves the home would be best for Sunny. Courtesy Post: This is not a Chap’s chow. GREAT NEWS: CoCo HAS BEEN ADOTED. We are trying to help it’s owner rehome his chow. CoCo is 30 pounds, lives in Mobile, AL and has bitten her owner, who now must find her a new home. CoCo will be a year old on Dec. 25th. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and is on monthly HW preventions. She is house-broken and crate trained. She is good with larger dogs but had not been around small dogs. Owner will provide crate, toys, food, and pay for transport of CoCo to her new home.

I am so happy for my latest rescue, Nala. She is adjusting very well to living in a pack and feeling loved. She now will go out to the yard with the pack without any encouragement at all. She seems to enjoy exploring the back yard. She is eating very well, twice a day. I got a cute picture of her and Tashi last night.
