Sweet Toby was brought to the vet a week ago with a swollen face, it was deemed that he was bit by something, after his appointment, he was sent home with medication and a follow up appointment. His owner called within a few days and decided that the face was not getting better and that he didn’t feel connected to Toby so he wanted to euthanize him. After combing through Toby’s records to determine if there was an underlying root cause to explain his owner’s decision, the vet office could find none and were horrified that someone would be willing to euthanize a healthy, 12 month old good boy like Toby. The vet office hoped that the owner would instead be willing to surrender Toby to them and he agreed. Toby is now in a short term foster home, safe and no longer living outside where he spent all of his life.
Because Toby is currently not associated with any rescue, his foster pawrents have been covering all of his medical expenses, including his medication for his swollen face and draining it.
