Dori, a 5 month old Sheperd mix, female pup. She is a fantastic girl. Housebroken, sweet, loves kids and other dogs and cats, if they don't run.
Dori is a stick around, chill kind of girl and is wonderful with new people and places. She rides well in the car now. ( she did get car sick in the beginning )
Her only vices are to be expected with a pup of her age. She will chew and she jumps. She is learning to chew only appropriate things and to stop jumping. It will take consistancy to nip it in the bud .
Dori is a diamond in the rough and will be a steller pet for just about anyone.

Meet Ziggy! 10 yo lab/border collie mix. UTD on vaccines and neutered. He is a well mannered and sweet dog. Walks off leash and will be perfect for someone looking for a buddy to do things outside with. He’s a bit over weight and doesn’t move fast but he’s losing weight and looking and feeling good. Ziggy gets along great with other dogs and cats and doesn’t pay too much attention to farm animals. He does not do well in a crate but can be trusted to be out in the house. Adopting a dog is one of the most compassionate things you can do. Not only does it provide a loving home for a dog in need, but it also creates a special bond between the dog and owner.
However, when people consider adopting a dog, they often gravitate toward puppies or younger dogs. While these furry friends are undoubtedly adorable, older dogs are just as deserving of love and affection.
Older dogs often have a much harder time finding homes than their younger counterparts.
Many people believe that an older dog will come with too many health problems and may not be able to integrate into their family dynamic easily. However, this couldn't be further from the truth!
In reality, older dogs tend to be calmer and more settled than puppies or younger dogs and adapt well to new environments quickly.
So if you are looking to adopt a new fur friend, please consider the older pups as well.

So what have we been up too? We finished out 2023 helping 5 dogs recover after being left in a bad situation. Little Ellie is only 5 months old and came in at 2.2pounds and with two weeks of love and attention she is now at 4.8pounds! Thanks to all the behind the scenes people, Carbondale Veterinary Clinic and Dessin Animal Shelter (who took in 2 of the 5 dogs) these dogs will being starting off 2024 in a healthier environment.

Housebroken, crate trained and great with other dogs. (A little too excited about cats, doesn’t want to hurt them, but loves to bark at them nonstop)
Its giving Tuesday! Silver Tales is a small, foster based rescue ! We have 5 dogs in our rescue right now. We do not have the time or means to do large advertising campaigns. We care for a majority of senior dogs with medical issues, and treat them all. They all live in our homes with us, not in cages or kennels. We tend to all medical needs and special diets ! Please help us help them !

Meet DeeDee!! She is a 13 year old Shih Tzu ... she's housebroken and crate trained ... great with other dogs and cats ... she is almost blind but gets around really well ... it's hard for her to navigate stairs but does excellent with ramps ... she's been in a foster home for a few months while she's had a dental and most of her teeth pulled and in that time she's found her way around her new surroundings very well ... sometimes her foster mom has to pick her up and take to where we're going but for the most part goes outside and back inside all on her own .. DeeDee LOVES to snuggle and hang out on the couch (which she will jump up on and off the couch) ... she still has a lot of s***k left for an old gal and would love a quiet household to live out the rest of her days ... she still has a TON of love to give someone and would make a great companion 🥰 for more information or to meet DeeDee call or text Nadia at 570-253-9222
Niki is a Border Collie/ Lab blend . She acts much younger than her almost 15 years. She is so sweet and kind, good with large and small dogs and will still chase a cat occasionally !
Niki will do best in a home where she can be let out frequently. ( Every 3-4 hours) She is good in a crate although it is not her favorite plaace to be. She is good overnight in one.
Niki wants to be in a home that she will shower her with love and affection for her furever home. She loves to eat and will do some tricks for treats!
Niki got a clean bill of heath at her Veterinarian visit and is reasy to go.
