It’s getting hot out there, our four pawed family members can’t take their coats off…please exercise them with care - if you can’t hold the back of you hand to the pavement for more than 5 seconds then it’s too hot for paws🐾❤️🐾

Dogs and children can be great companions - but always supervise and monitor the situation. It is also very important to ensure your dog’s worm/flea treatment is an effective one - for children and pregnant women it is especially dangerous if they get infected by worms passed on from pets 🐾❤️🐾

Here in Ibiza lots of the stray cats suffer from skin cancer because of the intense sunshine - in the UK our pale/white coated four legged friends are also at risk - just like us they can get sunburn - if your pet is partial to a spot of sunbathing make sure you protect them, particularly their ears and noses with sun cream to make sure they too stay safe in the sun 🌞 🐶❤️

It’s getting warmer, please monitor your dogs exercise they don’t always know when they’ve had enough. If you’re dog is struggling with the heat, there are plenty of cooling items on the market but a towel soaked with cold water can also do a great job - be mindful if cooling off your older/young/smaller fur babies that they don’t then become too cold 🐶 stay safe and enjoy the sunshine! 😊

Dogs like humans can have allergic reactions to things such as bee/wasp stings - if you suspect your pet has been stung keep a close eye for signs of swelling and breathing difficulties - if you think they are having a severe/anaphylactic reaction - call the vet this is a medical emergency ❤️🐕❤️

Adders -UK’s only venomous snake will now be coming out of hibernation - dog owners be aware that snakes will be sleepy and slow as they warm up in sunny spots along woodland edges and sea wall banks -
IF you suspect your dog has been bitten -

If possible take a photo of the snake, as the grass snake has similarities.

Keep calm, keep your dog calm - restrain or carry them if able.

Call the vet and transport them there.

Antihistamines - be very careful if tempted to administing as NOT all are safe for dogs, Piriton is deemed safe but be aware of the correct dosage for you dog.
