Poor Fred had a near-death experience yesterday. He and his brothers were out grazing in the field when, apparently, a predatory cat attacked him. One of his field mates is a very protective mini mule. Festus likely came galloping to the rescue chasing the cat away before he had a chance to do much damage. He has some light injuries to his neck and butt, but could have easily been killed. He’s hanging out in his shed recovering today.
