Today is a sad sad day at east fork chinchillas. Our beloved Bazinga passed on to the rainbow bridge. He was 11 years old and my first chinchilla. He’ll be missed greatly.

Now accepting deposits on my two kits! They will be $150 at pickup, and a $50 deposit to hold. They won’t be ready until late December early January, depending on the rate of weaning!!

Beans Update: almost one week old!! They are doing great!! I’ve named the two beans Garbonzo and Chickpea to stick with the bean theme.

Mama Bernadette is doing great!! After she’s over a week post partum, she will be able to have a MUCH needed dust bath.

Papa Bazinga got a dust bath tonight so he’s a happy boy!!

What do I mean when I say my chins are pets and family first? A pure reaction to see kits last Thursday. They were unexpected, as the pair were separated in June, but May have mingled while living with my mom while I was moving.

How they came to be does not matter, all I know is my beans, Garbonzo and Chickpea are here and doing fabulously.

I have not had a litter of chinchilla kits since winter 2018-2019. So as one might say, I was a little excited. I can’t wait to see how excited their new owners will be within the next few months!! ❤️

Here’s a fun chinchilla fact!!

Did you know? Chinchillas have an average of 60 hairs per follicle? Humans have 1 per follicle!! This is what makes their coats so dense and plush!

Because of this ultra dense fur, chinchillas cannot be infested with parasites such as fleas and lice, as they will suffocate in their fur!

Chinchillas “bathe” in an ultra fine dust, that reminds me of sifted powder sugar, to keep their coats shiny and clean! No water for these little guys!

Jay and Duke got nothing on these fresh beans!!

These two little standard grey pups are three days old!

Father is the legend Bazinga and is very proud.

Mother is Bernadette and she is doing a FABULOUS job of keeping these beans nice and plump!!

These beans will be available for adoption no sooner than December 2nd once fully weaned from mother.

Sexes are unknown but after they hit the one week old mark, I will s*x them and know for sure!!

As of right now I have one of these beans potentially spoken for, while the other is still available.

I also have one 2 year old female (Amy) available as well. Ready to go any time!!

Meet Princess Grace!!

Princess Grace is a mosaic chinchilla living in the residence of my parents being loved on almost every second of every day!!

She is the pride and joy of my stepdad and you’d never believe he used to HATE me having my chinchilla in 2017.

What can I say? Chinchillas grow on people 😉

Welcome to East Fork Chinchillas!! My name is Amanda Myers and after adopting my first chinchilla in 2017, I’ve been hooked!! Pictured is the one who started it all, our primary standard grey stud, Bazinga!!

Currently East Fork Chinchillas is primarily associated with standard greys, but color variations are in the works as well as angora varieties.

Here at East Fork, chinchillas are our pets and family FIRST, and breeding comes last.

These animals are highly active and VERY intelligent, but require quite a bit in regards to care and maintenance. Stay tuned for litter updates and information about my brand new venture here at East Fork Chinchillas. ❤️
