Yes! Pets are allowed on trains and it is an economically viable option. It is safe, has easy laws and allows small, big all kinds of animals, but they can be taken in a coupe (2 berths) or a cabin (4 berths) of a train in AC First Class or First Class (non-AC). They are strictly not allowed to be carried in AC Sleeper coaches, AC chair car coaches and second class coaches.

It is particularly dangerous for animals with snubbed noses (Brachycephalic), such as Bulldogs, Pugs, Pekingese and Persian cats. Since they have short nasal passages and are more vulnerable to oxygen deprivation and heat stroke. Find out if they can travel with you in the cabin. Most airlines allow small pets in the cabin with an additional fee. Call the airlines and find out about their pet-travel policies and understand them properly. If you find them too overwhelming, please take the help of travel companies that specialise in pet-travel.
