To Honor Peggy Blondiaux:

Unfortunately, it is with great sadness that I must share the Big Bear Pet Food Bank, as it was conceived and lovingly organized by Peggy Blondiaux and all her helpers, has ceased to exist. Peggy worked tirelessly under the radar and helped so many pets in our community. Her presence is definitely missed. Her methods are unsustainable. As an alternative, St Joseph’s Catholic Church (42442 North Shore Drive) has graciously agreed to take on our mission. They hold a drive-thru food pantry every Tuesday from 9:00am-2:00pm. They will gladly accept pet food donations in the form of cans or pouches and kibble bags (4 pounds or less). I know this is not the most economical way to purchase the kibble but re bagging is not an option. You do not have to be a parishioner to receive the pet food. You do not even have to need the human food to receive the pet food. We are hoping that our generous donors will continue to support our mission through St Joseph’s. Donations may be dropped off any day of the week from 9:00pm-2:00pm at the church office and on Sundays outside the church. We are currently working on other alternatives but this is a fabulous beginning and we appreciate St Joseph’s food pantry staff for agreeing to help our furry friends. You could also purchase Petco gift cards in small denominations to donate to be handed out.

If donating to St Joseph’s doesn’t intrigue you and you have bounty to share you may reach out on Big Bear Animal Rescue Community page and tell them of your desire to share. Conversely, if you have a need you may also reach out and the admins will try to help those willing to share extra with those needing help.

We are working on additional opportunities and will keep all informed as they happen. I just wanted to get this out. There will be NO PET FOOD BANK OCTOBER 21 GOING FORWARD. We really want to continue helping animals in our community in memory of Peggy’s legacy in other directions 💖

Hey everyone it's Peg from the big bear pet food bank and I just wanted to remind u about the awards ceremony June 8th being held at the Elks club but sponsored big bear rotary club. It starts at 5:30 and I'm so excited cause I have a few donor's and community members coming. Next I'm starting to campaign for donations. We fed over 180 pets in May so I'm watching the donations because the last 3 food banks we have run out of food. As we are in a huge growth pattern we really are in need of donations so that we can continue helping those less unfortunate. We want to keep pets out of the shelters. The best way to donate is emailing me a gift card from chewy. com or dm me as there are other ways and u can get a tax right off. I need all types of food. oh have i got some very exciting news to share with u. It's Peggy from big bear pet food bank. I just received a donation that is almost hard to comprehend. The donation is 66 bags weighing 13.2lbs each of dry dog food and 63 bags weighing 13.2lbs of cat food. This is insane when the people sent me the photos I had to read the message twice and then I started to cry. This means we will give full unopened bags of dry food for cats and dogs. That's about 4 times the amount that we normally give. Can u believe that. Thank u to ALL those who have donated. I will purchase wet dog and cat food. If u still want to donate I need wet food now. If i have forgotten to thank you personally for your donation, I'm sorry I've been busy going crazy in my head. This endeavor is so close to my heart. To make sure that no dog or cat is without food in BIG BEAR is my mission. And I can't do that without the community. Pls spread the great news about all that food we'll be giving away. The last pet food bank was the best yet look at this photo and u will see one of the many lines we had thru out the day. I need to replace all that food we gave away. Hey everyone, it's Peg from the Big Bear Pet food bank and we are about 10 days out from our next food bank. The truck u see below is my sister's truck and if u look in the same photo u'll see another truck. Those belong to my sister and her husband. Because of the accident my poor sister is going thru I need alot of help and I need donations. I'm doing my best to stay on top of things with the food bank but with what's going on with my sis and my own surgery issue it's been hard. I need 2 trucks that have big beds it will be for one Saturday for about 4 hours. I need food everything especially wet dog and cat food. U can send a gift card from chewy or place an order online and ship it to me. Pls DM me if u have any questions on how to donate there are other ways to donate that I can go over with u. I also need volunteers so the last food bank 3 people told me they would be there and they never showed up or got in contact with me. Right now today I need help unloading 7 boxes from chewy this is very hard for me as Im used to doing so much of it I don't even know how to ask for help. Hey everyone it's Peg from Big Bear Pet food bank and it's only 2 weeks away and I am desperate for donations. If u are a regular donator could u pls send what u normally do. the hardest part of my program is that's asking and getting donations. That's the only way that we can help the pets in our community. I'm going thru a very very difficult time right now and it's taking all my energy to worry about donations and wondering if I can find another truck to transport the food to the high school. At first I was going too cancel the pet food bank because of all that I'm going thru. But that would not be the right thing to do and I'm sure that my sister wouldn't want me to do that either. There are way too many people that we help. So I'm digging deep really deep to pulls off.I NEED U TO DIG HARD with me. If u pray pls pray for a full recovery for my sister her name is Kathy. I'm just so heart broken. The best way to help me is to email me a gift card from chewy or u can place an order from chewy and have it shipped to my House. Hey everyone, it's Peg from Big Bear Pet food bank and I wanted to tell u about the promotion that is going on at our local Petco. U can buy a couple of cat food pouches for .89 and they will donate it to one of 3 charity's one of them being us at big bear pet food bank. If u are able to donate I need wet cat and dog food u still have time before the next Pet food bank on July 23rd to donate. Gift cards from chewy are always great u can email it to me and I can purchase exactly what I need or get a gift card from Petco and I can go shopping there. Hey everyone, it's Peg from Big Bear Pet food bank and our next pet food bank is this Saturday at big bear high school parking lot from 10 to 1. With what's going on in our economy I know first hand that people are having a hard time feeding their families let alone feeding their pets. That's where the pet food bank is stepping in. We are here to help u feed ur pets and keep them out of the shelters. We are not step up to feed peoples pets all month long. We are a temporary solution for people who are going thru tough times. If ur on a fixed income, in between pay checks, just lost a job or are just going threw it we can help u feed ur pets. While we try and give u as much pet food as we can we operate solely on donations from the community. We are still asking for and receiving donations for the pet food bank this Saturday. Try and ease ur mind a little. My team and I will help u as much as we can. If u have any questions please pm me. Hey everyone, it's Peggy from the big bear pet food bank and our 10th pet food bank is tomorrow at the big bear high school parking lot from 10 to 1. PLS if u or someone u know needs help feeding their pets pls come by and see us at the high school we'll help u as much as we can and we'd love to meet ur fur babies too we have treats for them. 🥰 we are still in need of donations. We are in need of canned cat and dog food and some dry dog food. Last month u brought us food during the food bank and there were so many donations it helped sustained us til 1:00. Hey everyone, it's Peg from Big Bear Pet food bank and we are in great NEED of donations. Our next pet food bank is on March 19th. I won't be going to the palm springs animal shelter this month as they have no food to donate to us.b this is the first time that has happened and it will put a big dent towards what I usually give away. So I really need the community to rally behind us. The best way to donate is to place an order with chewy and ship it directly to my house or u can email me a gift card and I can buy exactly what I need. I need dog food both wet and dry and wet cat food and of course I need dog treats. Pls keep us a priority with ur donations. Hey everyone, it's Peg just reminding u about our next Pet food bank and I'm still in need of donations. I need cat and dog wet food. Time is running out. U can go to Petco and get food there. My car broke down so right now I can't come get it. But u can always deliver it to my house. There's is still time to order from Chewy. Com and have it delivered to my house or u can send a gift card to me via email. The last day to order from chewy would probably be Tuesday or Wednesday that gives them 3 days to get it here. I have to repackage all the food so that it's ready before Saturday which is the next pet food bank. Thank u to all who have donated already I've been getting alot of calls from people who are out of food right now so that's where everything is going.
