Socializing your dog is key to a well-behaved companion.
Start early for the best results. Introduce them to different people, environments, and other dogs.
Positive experiences build confidence. Gradually expose them to new situations. Patience and consistency are important.
Well-socialized dogs are calmer and happier. Socialization helps prevent fear and aggression. Always reward good behaviour during social interactions.

This amazing boy has two sides to him:
👔 On duty: When his vest is on, he’s all business—focused, disciplined, and ready to assist. No cuddles allowed during work hours!
💖 Off duty: The second the vest comes off, he transforms into the biggest lovebug, bringing endless cuddles and joy to everyone around him.

In these photos, he’s hanging out with his girlfriend, Claudia. 😍 His adoring glances at her have us all green with envy—just look at that HUGE smile!

Obax - Bentley truly is the whole package: a dedicated assistant dog and the ultimate cuddle champ. What a star! 🌟

📢 Meet Odin—our resident dribbler extraordinaire! 💧

Emily has decided that a shirt is now mandatory (because apparently, puddles aren’t a vibe). Don’t let the shirt fool you though—he’s still a BIG, fluffy sook who thinks he’s a lapdog.

And … don’t be fooled by those puppy-dog eyes 👀—this guy is always plotting his next act of mischief. Whether it’s sneakily stealing socks or pretending the couch is his personal throne, Odin keeps us on our toes.

The verdict? Absolute Sook. 10/10 good boy. 🐾

Today, Obax accompanied his handler to Housing SA and Boy and Bloom, showing off his impressive skills in public settings. Trained to support his handler during appointments and navigate busy environments, Obax is a true superstar. 🌟

Fully car-trained, he often rides up front, keeping an eye on his handler (and occasionally dreaming about taking the wheel himself—what a cheeky pup!).

Obax is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of the city. His calm demeanor and confidence in public are a testament to the hard work and dedication of both his handler and our training team. From just four months old, Obax has been on a journey of daily training, and it’s been amazing to see his growth.

Not only is Obax incredibly skilled, but he also brings so much joy to his handler. And let’s not forget—he’s ridiculously handsome and full of personality. How could we not adore this mischievous little doggo? 🐶

We’re so proud of Obax and all the progress he’s made!

Meet Obax, one of our amazing Assistant Dogs in training! 🐾

Obax is a star when it comes to being well-behaved in public. After 6 hours of hard work in the community, he knows how to relax with a well-earned nap while his handler unwinds with our trainer, Emily.

From attending church services to medical appointments and even helping out on shopping trips, Obax is always ready to lend a paw. He truly loves being out and about, surrounded by people and spreading joy wherever he goes!

Here’s to Obax and all the incredible work he does! 🐶💙

Little Murphy, big attitude.
Murphy lived by his rules. Pooping wherever, patrolling the streets, committing high art heists. Crate training and teaching the lost art of calm saved Murphy from a life of crime.

Here at Octavian Canine we are a team of dog trainers, because 2 heads is better than one. Carl does a fantastic job training a range of dogs including these 2 here. Emily is our most experienced dog walker, able to handle the biggest, craziest dogs I've ever trained. Merridy has years of experience training her own assistance animal and uses that experience to help pets and service animals in training, alike. I'm pretty good at doing paperwork, I guess, sometimes I don't make mistakes.
