The puppies will be 7 weeks old this Saturday! They are all so amazingly sweet and precious. It’s been such a joy having them lighten each day.

Haven’t posted in way too long but Cicada has some BIG NEWS!

On November 25 she gave birth to a perfect, beautiful litter of 4 males and 3 females. They are all doing so well. Both parents (her & Mantis) are half Anatolian Shepherd x Great Pyrenees.

At exactly a week old (yesterday) they all weighed in at exactly 3lbs!

I didn’t take reservations ahead of time with this being her first litter but they are open now! Dark green is already spoken for.

We’re finally grandparents! 😆 Tux decided she was ready to be a mama and hatched these three cute little fuzz balls. I ended Sunday in the huge down pour 💦 building them a separate coop to be safe and secure while they grow up a little more. Welcome to the world, little babes! 🐥🐥🐥

Today is always a bittersweet day, as it would have been my dad’s 72nd birthday. I prefer to focus on the sweet though. Today our new and final member of the pack, Cicada, is 8 weeks old and Grasshopper & Mantis are exactly 9 months old! So happy 72nd, 8th week and 9 months to all! 🖤🥳🐾😇

The little ducklings had their first outing yesterday. The stream was calling and they gladly answered. They successfully had their first swim, played in the mud, got some nice sun, waddled around a bit, and were introduced to the cats and some of the chickens. 🐤🐥🦆💦

Sol update: Unfortunately his ankle is not healing at all yet and is still very loose. The doctor said at least there was a bone left for her to buttress to. The splint needs to be kept in place or he’s going to end up with lifelong gimp foot. He’s an escape artist so I have now stepped up my game to keep him 🤞🏻 fully contained. Otherwise, he escapes, wanders around the house, climbs the stairs, etc. and does everything he’s not supposed to be doing. He’s still as loving and full of purrs as ever and even came home with a chicken patterned wrap today. Hopefully next week is better news. This mouser will not be catching mice anytime soon. 🐱❌🐭🖤

One of our farm kitties had a little accident today. Sol fell from the back deck roof on to the deck this morning and was really shaken up. Luckily I just happened to look outside right as he was falling. I was able to get him inside right away, check him over and we ended up at the emergency veterinary hospital for five hours. He had a concussion, bloody nose and needed oxygen, pain meds, a cast for his very broken hind leg and lots of love. He will be recovering with our indoor pack for the foreseeable future. We’re so lucky this didn’t end up being way worse. I’m sure our other mousers will be missing their brother out patrolling with them, but we'll sure be taking advantage of the quality time inside. 🖤🐱🐭
