Wally’s Shelter Bio: Wally is a sweet and playful 7.5-year-old terrier mix who is looking for a loving home to call his own. Though, his journey through life has not been an easy one so far. He initially came to us in 2019 and was covered in wounds which our medical team quickly treated. Since then, he had left the facility 2x, but ultimately wound up back here in December 2024, through no fault of his own. Nowadays, he’s a big fan of playtime! Wally loves all kinds of toys—balls, ropes, squeaky toys, and more—but he can be a bit protective of them. He’ll happily trade toys for other toys or tasty treats, making him a fun and engaging playmate. Wally is a bit timid with new people while in his kennel, but once he’s out, he’s much more open and friendly. He’s great with basic commands like “sit” and “down” and is always ready to please. On the leash, Wally can pull a little but listens well to corrections. Because of his energetic and playful nature, Wally would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with adults or teens over 17, as he is a timid dog who enjoys a low-key life. Gotchya AT STILL AT SHELTER SINCE JULY 2022! Please rescue group step up and help and foster him and rehabilitate him please 🥰 I am sharing Gotchya! Look at that smile 😊!! Found as stray early July 2022-intake age about 2 yrs/ 69 pounds. If the shelter had invested in rehabilitating him when they first got him then it would have been less effort. But make mistake- while I feel I need to be clear - I feel he needs to be either at a rescue who can fully rehabilitate him / then adopt him out. Or the rescue can find a foster home to rehabilitate. Gotchya can be a good dog, even well behaved but shelter said has food aggression issues. I’ve had cliIents w/ same issue & very much can be a happy well adjusted and loving dog. With this one issue. But needs to / should be addressed. He needs to be out of that shelter who doesn’t even remember his name or that he is there/who is not giving him any thought or any training. His volunteer buddies say he is a very good boy & he LOVES playing in the play yard, especially carrying multiple tennis balls in his mouth while splashing in the kiddie pool. Gotchya’s ideal home would consist of an active lifestyle. Walks, jogs, trails, hiking and romps in the pool (or lake!). This active fella is going to need structure and exercise.
