There is no music that would make this sound better. Sweet little Peter, of the Beatrix Potter litter, loving the lovies and the best toy of all, his own tail! Two of his siblings were adopted this weekend and going to the most WONDERFUL homes, while he and his sister Mopsy are living it up in foster care for a bit longer. Nothing but goodness in either scenario.
Maple, checking in with me to see if we are as grateful as he is with @renspetstoronto, specifically the Queen east location, for directing food from their Thanksgiving food drive towards Cats Cradle. And we are! Check out that Old Mother Hubbard situation we had going on!
Quite the voice on this guy Maple. Makes up for his brother’s almost silent meows.
We wonder how many ‘fraidy cats have been tamed due to developing a Churu addiction. The ears say no, the slurpy licker, yes. Pepper Potts has me standing tippy-toed on a stool to reach the top of the cupboard, rolling the Churu like an aging tube of toothpaste with one hand. @inaba_churu, you do good work! And we need more Churus asap!
Oh Scooter, you are a lively one! This young gal is full of love and sass. She would do well to start as an only cat for a time we think, or as a partner to a very confident young cat. Anyone ready to pounce? Be in touch!
When you are hungry and nervous and your kitten just doesn’t care. We are trying to get some meds into Hannah, it’s been a challenge since we are only sharing distances slow blinks so far. She wants the other food so bad, but has to eat the sneaky med laced food first. Poor sweetie! Hannah needs some time, but we have so many adorable kittens coming up to adoption age! Be in touch!

Kitty needs a permanent home...
Update! Emily was matched with a lovely couple just a day or so after posting! We wish everyone a happy transition and a life full of cuddles!
Emily, one of our first CC Mama Cats came to us in the spring, taking care of her own litter and a few fostered to her at the shelter. She did an excellent job raising her babies while she herself remained semi feral. We fully planned on finding her a home in a warm barn or workshop, but as we had a chance to interact with her in confined spaces, we realized that she had a spark of domesticity in her after all. Once she was spayed, she went out to a foster to adopt situation where she was adored and doted upon for many months, but alas, she and her would be sister kitty couldn't come to an understanding. All that adoration, attention and eventually much needed dental care resulted in a kitty who is now most certainly a lovely house cat! She has been back with her original foster for a few weeks to see how she would do as an only. Emily needs a pretty specific situation, so please help us out by sharing. Emily needs to be an only cat. She needs to have an adopter who understands and respects shy kitties. She would be most comfortable and secure living in one room for a time-preferably a home office or another room where people spend a lot of time. She does not want to be picked up, but loves an opportunity to approach for pats and love. She eats well, uses her litter box just as she should. She is learning to PLAY! Emily is about 3 years old, and a beautiful dark tortie.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Emily, send us a message through Facebook. Our email is currently down, so we will not receive applications through our site.
SPECIAL NEEDS KITTY ALERT!
Meet Earl. This plucky little fellow has so many strikes against him, but he is the most cheerful, determined, focused and physically strong kitten I’ve ever seen. When I first got him at 3 weeks, he seemed more wobbly than most kittens just learning to walk, and within a few days the vet had confirmed he had Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), which is a condition that occurs when a pregnant mama is exposed to the Parvo virus. This is not uncommon with stray cats, and Mama as beautiful as she is (she’s also part Maine Coon), was a stray, being fed by two neighbours in north Scarborough. Earl had an operation at two weeks to remove one of his eyes which had abscessed -- he’d only been with Cats Cradle Toronto for a week at that point. CH affects kittens in the last two weeks of gestation and the first three weeks of being born and it's not noticeable until they start to walk. While it doesn’t improve, it doesn't get worse and his limbs will strengthen and he will adapt to his circumstances. Already he is learning to walk beside a wall, and to cry for help getting into the litter box (and his big sister goes in after and covers it up!). He is incredibly playful, purrs a lot, and is a heart grabber the way he hurls himself out of his little bed to greet you when he hears your voice. Whoever adopts him (and his sister Pekoe) will have one incredibly sweet, devoted kitten who loves to curl up and be cuddled. But they also have to be prepared he will require a little more attentiveness than most cats. Check out our website for more info on Sweet Earl and to connect with us!
Snoopy gets a turn!
The Peanuts are growing so quickly now, thanks to Lucy’s excellent care. Snoopy was touch and go for a couple of weeks so he was off on his own being fed ‘round the clock and living the cozy life in his little cooler/incubator. He still loses the nipple battle, but if the other three have had their fill, he gets it all to himself for a while. He is the only one who purrs so far, and it is a big purr for such a little peanut. Lucy is counting the days until her spay so she can get back outside where she is more at ease.
