31st December 2023...
The day thousands of dogs lives change in England & Wales.
I know emotions are high with the entire situation and my heart is beyond broken for you all.
Coop has been a part of our family since October 2020. He's been muzzled on every walk since November 2020. He is, as I've mentioned before, a bitey boy with strangers. So, in public spaces, he wears a muzzle. He's never managed a bite in the 3 years I've had him but he does have a bite history from previous homes.
If I do say so myself, his life is great🤣. He gets enrichment, natural treats, raw food, to sleep in my bed, cuddles whenever he wants, treats just because, training, walks, decompression days and his brother and sisters to play and cuddle with too.
Now I'm lucky that Coop doesn't have any restrictions set against him that force us to fit into a little box and I will remain ever grateful for that. But I just wanted to share how life will still be great for your furbabies as they are still part of your family.
I have a few little things up my sleeve for 2024 for your XL babies, so keep your peepers peeled for that.
I do, however, want to reiterate my point from a few weeks ago that I will not tolerate any people on my page who slander vets or rescue workers during this god-awful time. Su***de rates amongst vets and rescue staff are the highest in the animal industry and your words do matter. So choose them wisely. Regardless of your feelings, they do have to follow the legislation whether they like it or not.
If every vet in the country refused to euthanaise all the XL's, that just leaves room for unethical practices and suffering for those dogs - I'll leave the imagination with you on that, for what people will do if they can't access humane euthanasia.
My heart really does go out to all the dogs and families learning to cope with this new normal and I hope 2024 is a better year for you all💜
