💥 Tomorrow is New Years' Eve and the fireworks and the constant noise can easily make the celebration difficult for our furry friends more, than it should be. How does your dog behave on these nights, how anxious are they?

We prepared a few tips, hopefully you find them helpful to assist a bit to get through a difficult night for most of the dogs:
🐾 Obviously, if you are aware that your dog cannot take the noise, don't leave them alone at home
🐾 Time your walk for an earlier part of the day, on a calm & quiet area. Avoid going to the streets around midnight.
🐾 Use the leash during the walk, as you may never know when and where someone could throw a firecracker, startling you and your dog as well.
🐾 Comfort and support your pet, but be cautious not to reinforce fear through your voice. Make sure your touch to your dog is calming & slow.
🐾 Try to minimise the noise coming in from outside. Close your windows, doors and shutters too.
🐾 You can try to offer them a long-lasting treat for distraction.
🐾 If you'd like to use certain products to help calm down your dog, make sure to contact your veterinarian, so you're aware of the pros and cons. Especially if you have not used them before.

And when New Years' Eve has passed, make sure you go for a nice & long walk to leave the stress of the Old Year behind you and welcome the New Year with good energy! 🙂 🐾

⛄️ Winter has arrived to many cities in Europe, probably even you are surrounded by snow at this moment. This means we're preparing for cold days and the typical wintery environment
Sidewalk salt and antifreeze are often used these months, but did you know these products are dangerous for our four-legged friends?

🔹 Sidewalk salt can cause irritation or inflammation to the soles of your pet. We recommend to wash your dog's or cat's paws properly after every walk. Applying some Vaseline on the paws before and after the walk helps with protection and softening the pads of the paw.

🔹 Antifreeze smells and tastes sweet, so it can be very attractive to dogs and cats. Watch out though: it is extremely toxic! Even a few drops can have serious consequences with very damaging effects to their health. So be extra careful and keep antifreeze out of reach of your pet!

Has your pet been in contact with sidewalk salt or antifreeze? Contact your veterinarian immediately!
