😻If your young person between the ages of 10-17 is interested in caring for animals, our Pet Sitters course is the starting point for youth who want to turn their love for animals into a business. Beginning March 27th, youth will learn basic dog and cat care, pet first aid, feeding, watering, and exercising pets, and how to start their own pet sitting business - joining our roster of GTHS endorsed pet sitters! 🐾🌟

Randal.

This guy was my photo muse for 3 weeks. He’s the master of his backyard, and I had so much fun photographing him outside.

I’m not a fan of filters, but I felt like this photo was calling for a cool filter for a cool cat 🐾

Randal the cat, Freyah the Whippet, and Cooper the Lab.

I’ll probably always have a soft spot in my heart for Labs and Golden’s. Cooper’s 90+ pounds of love and solid muscle. He knows what he wants (food, walks, or cuddles), and he asked for it with the cutest nose nudges into my arm 😁

While Cooper blasts through the mud puddles, Freyah jumps effortlessly over them. She’s fast as lighting. It’s beautiful to watch her in motion. She was my nighttime snuggler.

Randal - such a soft and gentle guy, with an awesome motor of a purr. His canine siblings occasionally chase him, so I cheered him on when he gave them a good swipe for no reason ☺️

Maple the lab and Moose the mix.

When the kid gets to name the dog, and he chooses Toronto Maple Leafs, it gets shortened to Maple ☺️

Moose greeted me at the door with a toothy grin, like seriously, he smiles 😁 He’s also a cuddly guy. But in typical lab style, his sister Maple pushes her way into the coveted cuddle spot every time. Such a fun pair 💛🤎🖤🐾

My 3rd sit with this crew. It’s beautiful to really get to know their personalities, and the way they relate to each other.

My conclusions….

The gingers really love each other

They all steal each others food

The cats live up to their nocturnal rep by having the 2:00am zoomies (the dogs have no interest in this bizarre ritual)

My back will recover from pretzeling myself around many of them in bed at night

Gracie the grey tabby… omg.. those eyes!

They’re a true dual species pack. I’m not sure they know that they’re different… lessons we humans can learn

I’ll miss you until next time! 🐾🤎🖤🤍

The pint sized pack… Kammi, Sophie, and Bandit 🐾

Omg… I LOVED getting to know these 3 pups this week.

Sophie the Lhasa poo, confident and independent, with a lotta “love me” built in. She’s soft and cuddly, springy and light, like a ballerina.

Kammi the Yorkie… a miniature Chewbacca! She’s a firecracker, a snuggler, and the life of the party.

Bandit the Chihuahua… the methodical, caring, patriarch of the pack. He can easily do the stairs, but he knew how to get me to do the work for him 😁

The hardest part of pet sitting is saying goodbye. For now 🤎🖤🤍🐾

Tucker. 3rd stay with us. He’s such a zen energy in the house. Wise and gentle, but knows how to ask for what he wants. And he’s a very patient selfie subject 😜

I’m always a bit sad when he goes home, and I’m equally excited by the homecoming welcome his human will get! 🤎🐾

Marner. We rang in the New Year with this handsome boy! My first kiss of 2023 was from him…. although he needs a lesson about sloppy kisses 🤣 He’s a relentless chaser of squirrels, a chatty, expressive guy, and he was definitely my photo muse this weekend. 🤎🖤🐾

Harley. I’m just getting to know this little cutie, but so far I’d say she is equal parts strong and determined, and affectionate and gentle. She and her sister, Betty White, are great playmates and loads of fun to watch 😁🐾

Betty White. Yep, that’s her name! How awesome of her pet parents to name her that 👍🏻😁 Excitement and curiosity beam from this spirited pups deep, dark eyes. It’s kinda like staring into the endlessness of the universe 🐾🤍

My first in-your-home pet sit. This crew is amazing! I was never short on purrs and cuddles with Gracie and Rusty, Otis is a cheeky and wise old man, and Effie (the black dachshund) is gentle and sweet. Effie wouldn’t come near me for the first few days, and then in one beautiful moment, she came and curled up in my lap. It made me think of Dorothy, when she says to Scarecrow… “I think I’ll miss you most of all”

This is the one who started it all. A friend was going away and needed someone to care for Ava (pronounced Ahva). This snow white chatty girl wrapped herself around our hearts. She reminded me how much I love having a pet in the house…… and Pets by the Bay was born. 🤍🐾

Gryffindor. Gryffin. Gryffie. By my side for 1 week shy of 14 years. What they say about Goldens is true…. the love is 100% unconditional and pure.

There was a pretty big hole in my heart when he left, and then a friend asked us to watch her cat while she was away. Ava stayed with us, and I realized that I had SO MUCH LOVE to give to other peoples pets.

The word spread, and Pets by the Bay was born.

I’m sure Gryffin had something to do with this 🐾🤎
