Dogma Danes & Pointers & Bulldogs Dogma Danes was founded in 2004. Pointers were added in 2014, and Bulldogs in 2021. GDCA, APC, & BCA.

Current memberships include the Great Dane Club of America, the American Pointer Club, the Bulldog Club of America, Piedmont North Carolina Bulldog Club, and the Durham Kennel Club (on the DKC Board of Directors).

The Raleigh Tarheel Cluster brought Dogma back into the ring with Pointers- liver and white brothers W***y and Yodel tried the ring on for size and had a very successful all days of 4-6 mo. puppy showing(as well as meeting and greeting literally everyone). Each boy showed 2 days and had a blast! Results from the highly competitive sporting group were:
Wednesday- Best Puppy In Show!!!
Thursday- BPUP Sporting Group 1!
Saturday- BPUP Sporting Group 4
Sunday- BPUP Sporting Group 1!

We are so proud of these boys, and can’t wait until they hit the big boy ring! They are from our Toby (GCHS CH Oakwood’s How Do You Like Me Now CGC) and Moon Pie (CH Dogma Racecity Penzance We Give You The Moon) litter. These brothers are owned by Dogma and Laurie Cahill.🤎🤍🤎

Last week Dogma suffered a shocking and abrupt loss of our sweet and beautiful Pointer Bobby Potato. We were two days into the Tarheel Cluster and went in for a lump that had come up in just a few days, only to learn she had Leukemia. It was so far advanced it was already in her bone marrow- her white blood cell count didn’t even register on the machine as it was so high. Her spleen was swollen and we had to opt to let her go, for fear taking her home even for overnight might result in a rupture.

Bobby was so many things to me. The start of our Pointer program, she was my constant shadow and companion. My unicorn. When she came to us after the death of her first owner, I didn’t know she would occupy a place in my heart unlike any other. She was just a chubby potato, which earned her the nickname of Bobby Potato… We “got” each other. Bobby could “smile”- curling her lips back and snorty sniffing while grinning. It delighted everyone who caught her doing it, when she was happy. She even accompaniedd us on family vacation out of state- a priveledge held only by her.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of three litters of children, and now grandchildren to watch grow up. In each of them I see so much of her- especially her grandkids. We have even seen her trademark snorty smile.

Sleep softy and run free, sweet unicorn girl… You were so treasured, so loved. 💔🦄

When you send one of your puppies home, there’s the joy of adding to your extended dog family… and then there’s extra celebration when the couple is already part of that family, and coming back to add to it! Today there was lots of love all around with Thomas, Glennis and Poe adding our sweet little Cupcake to their pack! Poe has turned into such a handsome fellow, and the two immediately took to each other. Love you guys, and so glad we get to enjoy her growing up with you! 🎊🎉❤️

This flashy little lady is still looking for a home! Meet Cupcake. Why she wasn’t the first to go with her unusual, heavy markings, has us stumped! She is intelligent, happy-go-lucky, playful and super snuggly. She would make an exceptional performance dog (she loves to balance on things to tease her brothers- she is incredibly agile and extremely coordinated for a baby!). She also would love to be trained to hunt (she notices everything out of the ordinary and has spotted birds out in the yard and in trees with targeted precision- getting her to break her concentration on them takes some doing).

At 16 weeks old she is already microchipped and almost done with her vaccines, so there won’t be any routine vet visits for another year. She is already crate trained to her own crate at night/when no one is home, and is happy to go in for a treat and to enjoy a chew bone. She can go about 6-7 hours at night before needing to go to the bathroom, too.

She went to Durham Kennel Club last night for socialization with her brothers who were attending class. Once she settled in and warmed up to the overwhelming amount of strange dogs, handlers and noise, she was so excited! She was meeting and greeting everyone (and loving treats and pets) and had new playmates of a Jack Russell puppy, adult Irish Wolfhound and Doberman champion that she cavorted with.

Parents are “Toby” GCHS CH Oakwood’s How Do You Like Me Now CGC x “Moon Pie” CH Dogma Racecity Penzance We Give You The Moon. Both parents have CHIC numbers and are health tested (passed all testing) above and beyond the recommendations of The American Pointer Club (of which we are members).

Somehow this beautiful 13 week old Cupcake is still looking for a family to call her own!!! Photos of her here out today at Bass Pro Shop, meeting and greeting shoppers and enjoying seeing all the bird and animal mounts, fish, and more in the store. She explored, got lots of pets from adults and kids alike and had a good time, despite the rain outside. Shoot us a message to learn more about this special, birdy girl!

This lovely, heavily marked black and white Pointer girl “Cupcake” is looking for a family of her own for Christmas! Cupcake is 12 weeks old and from AKC conformation Champion parents (GCHS Ch Oakwood’s How Do You Like Me Now CGC X Ch Dogma Racecity Penzance We Give You The Moon). Both parents are OFA Health tested.

Cupcake is super sweet, cuddly, friendly, and loves playing with toys and other dogs. She showed interest in birds when she was introduced to them at 8 weeks old on a teaser pole. Very intelligent, she notices everything around her and picks up being on a schedule with ease. She is already acclimated to sleeping in a crate at night or when no one will be home. Her favorite evening pastime is snuggling on the couch to get unlimited pets!

Thursday was the second wild delivery day of babies- Pink collar liver girl and Olive collar black girl went to their new homes! Olive girl now lives on a beautiful horse farm in NC with her owner Amy and has two kids to call her own and a Jack Russell brother to play with. Pink girl is in FL with the most delightful couple Phyllis and Jon, whose daughter’s family lives down the street and has a Pointer buddy for her to play with! Both are loving exploring their new homes and properties, and settling in nicely. Made for a long day… but two wonderful families added to the Dogma family🥰

The mystery trip yesterday with purple girl ended with a final touchdown at LAX - she’s becoming a California girl! Thanks to some amazing, magical Christmas elf friends, the Lian family are getting mended hearts after loosing their sweet Pointer girl to cancer several months ago. I left at 3:30am and didn’t get back until 2am— but it couldn’t have been more worth it… Welcome to the Dogma family, Katie, Brandon, and Scarlett!❤️❤️❤️

It is with great melancholy that Dogma announces that we will no longer be showing or breeding Great Danes. After losing Ripley in late winter, we have no one else to show or breed. The plan now is to move forward, focusing on our Pointers and Bulldogs. Through the end of this year, I will be occasionally posting wonderful candids and show win memories of our Danes of the past 20 years from the fancy. We loved them greatly and will always miss them! To start us down memory lane, it’s only fitting to share our foundation bitch and first AKC CH Alyeska I Ain’t No Song&Dance CGC. “Melodie” was the most wonderful ambassador of the breed and one of the sweetest dogs we ever had. This was the first show, at six months and two days- with a jittery, anxious, VERY green handler also in the ring the first time (me!).

The Moon Pie Minis (The Snack Cake litter) are growing like weeds! Here’s some quick up close photos of the pups. It took so long doing it solo to wrestle the little wigglers that one of the liver boys was fast asleep by the time I got to him- his photos are a hoot!
