Please come dressed up!! Horse/rider costume contest following exhibitions. Free to anyone who would like to enter! Prize to winner.

We will have a soup bar & carve pumpkins after the show! Parents we would love for y’all to bring some candy and set up a trunk or treat for our contestants following the show.

New state show date ~ Dec 8-10

We will no longer have a sanctioned show that day at rice. There is a possibility of adding one additional show date before the end of year. It will keep everyone updated as soon as I can get something scheduled.

You must have 3 district shows in to compete at state! The list is posted. There are no ghost entry’s this year. If you plan on attending the state you have 3 chances left to get your show count in.

Instead of taking the vote at show we are going to do the horse of the year vote via this google doc. This will allow members who can't attend the show a chance to vote. Vote will close 11/18 8pm. You must be an active nbha sc-01 member for your vote to count.

The show series at the sanctioned shows Saturday gives out buckles 1-4d! There is a $30 one time fee to be eligible to win the prizes!

Barry Capps and 23-year-old gelding TDF Revenues Maniac turned in a 16.489 to win the NBHA Open 5D Championship, worth $3,002. It is the second time Capps is bringing an NBHA World Championship home to Hendersonville, North Carolina — he won the NBHA Senior 5D World Championship aboard “Maniac” in 2016. Capps says he is thrilled to be adding a second world title to Maniac’s achievements.

“I have had this horse his whole life,” Capps shared. “He was bred on my farm — in fact, he was the first horse ever to be foaled out there. We have a special bond. I’ll carry him with me forever."

Capps, who has been running barrels for more than two decades, says he loves the bond he shares with his horses.

“They calm me down,” Capps explained. “Especially when I was younger, I could get anxious and uptight. But the horses were always able to counteract that. To this day, they give me peace.”

Capps thanks God, his wife, family and barrel racing friends, and the NBHA.
