OK, kids, I need some magic. This is Tucker, a 5 year old, 120 pound Anatolian Shepherd who has been though the wringer and he needs a unicorn placement. This dog has experienced more loss than most. Tucker's owners died, one at a time, months apart, in excruciating slow motion. With their deaths, he was left utterly alone, tied to the deck of the home (presumably by an extended family member) and had it not been for the timely intervention of a neighbor, this dog would have died on that chain as he was twisted up so badly in the chain that he could not move. Tucker was alone in the world and no one wanted him.

And so Tucker came to us. He was very happy to see people again, but there was a wariness in his eyes and he was petrified that we would leave him, too. He injured himself when left alone in his first foster home when he decided an open second story window was a good way to go look for his errant person. We repaired his knee. Then he experienced GVD, more commonly referred to as bloat, and he nearly died. We fixed him again with the help of talented surgeons. This dog has definitely used all his nine lives.

Tucker is the sweetest dog ever. He has come a very long way in his current foster home and he needs the right place to go. He needs a home with a dog door, a tall wood fence, and people who are home most of the time. His foster Mom has done an amazing job with him, but she is not what he needs in the forever department. With more time and experience, we think he will realize that he is not in danger of being left again so he can exhale. He is great with all people, kids included. He is not a fan of big dogs but he is great with smaller ones, and cat friendly. I note that he has been living with kids and multiple dogs, big ones included, but we think he likes smaller ones better. I guess every man has his point of vanity and he wants to be the biggest. He has perfect manners, rides like a champ in the car and is a complete gentleman everywhere.

I want this dog to have the home of his dreams after the incredible losses he has endured. I want him to have all the presents and all the treats and all the love. He deserves his happily every after. If this dog makes your heart sing, please email [email protected] to discuss him with her. He's in Nashville and can travel anywhere we do.

I’ve started making short videos to share what boarding and training is like at my home. I don’t have a dog barn with stalls. I have a home. The crates are used for appropriate separation and rest. I really can’t get around my small kitchen with 7 dogs, so I use ex-pens and crates during meal prep and feeding time. Please share with Austin dog owners. I’m located in southwest Austin, and have clients driving from Elgin and Buda. It’s worth the drive when your dog needs a home away from home.
