Good bye dear friend❤️
One of my first fur-babies that i looked after when I first started my pet sitting journey. I got to look after him one last time at the beginning of the month for a week.
Today I had the privilege of saying goodbye as he was “put to sleep” at the local vet I work for.
He lived 17 beautiful years and I am so blessed to have looked after him for 6 years when his mommy went away.
Meet your house and pet sitter: Hey my name is Grace and I proudly look after the furbabies of the upper-highway. My nickname growing up was “doctor Doolittle” because my mother said I always had a way with animals. She always tells the story of two dogs on the beach who were growling and barking at everyone who walked past while their owner was swimming. The owner came back to find a toddler Grace, cuddling up to his dogs under his umbrella (under parental supervision, don’t worry😂😂). The owner said to my parents that his dogs never allowed anyone to get besides family do that. My first job in high school was as a dog walker to a Labrador cross corgi. We would walk for an hour and a half everyday after school. Animals are still a huge part of my adult life with my housesitting and working at my local vet. I started fur-baby whisperer in 2020 and we are still going strong thanks to your constant support and trust in me as your house and pet sitter. Thank you 💝

This beautiful boy needs a little extra TLC and I am more than happy to provide it❤️ he needs medication both in morning and evening and of course lots of snuggles and kisses. Such a special cat and family. Can’t wait to look after you and your brother soon again.

The best feeling in the world is when a shy cat becomes your friend 🥺🥺🥰. I Looked after this beautiful boy and his brother for 5 days. He hide under the bed for the first few days which meant I had to put his food in the room I knew he was hiding in, to ensure he was eating…but now,we are friends! and ive got lots of love and cuddles to prove it 🥳🙌🏻
Does your four-Legged Friend need to take a trip to the Vet whilst you are away? I'm more than happy to accompany your little cutie and provide all the cuddles and comfort they may need

Meet The Team
Next in our lineup of lovely admin ladies is Grace Lahner, who is an administrative assistant here at IVH.
Originally from Joburg, Grace moved to KZN with her parents at the age of 9.
She attended local schools until she matriculated, and has gone on to study a BA in Psychology and Communications through Varsity College which she does in the afternoons after work.
Grace has been a "staff member" at IVH from a young age.
Having her wonderful mom Margarete, who is our equally wonderful receptionist, in the Veterinary industry meant Grace spent many hours at IVH as a child, and she says this has given her a deep insight into the world of vets and vet nurses, which in turn has created a deep respect for these professionals too.
Grace is a self-described GenZ, having a love for quirky clothing and out-the-box ideologies. She has an incredibly creative and artistic side, and loves drawing in pencil crayon and also hip-hop dancing, where she won her dance school's choreography competition 2 years running.
Grace also does house-sitting in the area, and has a special fondness for cats and small dogs, so if you're needing a reliable house sitter, Grace is your go-to gal! furbaby_whisperer

🐾World Rabies Day 🐾
Rabies vaccination is available for domestic dogs and cats (sometimes other animals may also be vaccinated). This is the best available measure to prevent the infection in these animals and also prevent and/interrupt outbreaks of rabies. Dogs that are not fully vaccinated for rabies are susceptible to infection. Rabies vaccination may be available in your community through mass-vaccination campaigns by the provincial veterinary services and non-governmental non-profit organizations. Alternatively, rabies vaccination could also be accessed through private veterinary services.
Love your fur baby and get them vaccinated against Rabies 💉

I am loving looking after this beautiful and smart pup. We have so much fun on our daily walks. I love watching her grow . She has really crept into my heart and left her little paw prints on it. I still have a few more weeks with her but I am already dreading having to say goodbye. we have really bonded the two of us❤️.
