I feel I always get asked if reptiles need enrichment in their enclosures. Do leopard geckos climb? Yes. Do reptiles enjoy being out? Yes.

It may not be dog excitement but reptiles do like being out and if youve handled them enough they like to be on or around you while you do things. I feel it of course depends on your reptile too! Some wanna be left alone but even if they do it's good to offer them time outside their enclosure. Good for them to smell different smells stretch out their bodies and get the muscles moving!

Enrichment can even be moving things around in their enclosure or putting things in their area to climb or giving more places to hide like plants. If your enclosure is lacking you can always add or make things better for your reptile! Do research or reach out to people for help to improve your reptile care! DM always open for help! When people say reptiles have no feelings I look at Baymax and say otherwise! There are many other reptiles that show love, attention, and curiosity for their owners. I called him out and he came out watching me fiddle around in his enclosure and he came to watch me blep me to see and get information about what was going on. They are smart...these babies aren't stupid. Just because you don't understand them doesn't mean that's what they are maybe to you but in reality they aren't out there to kill us or don't have emotions. This isnt me humanizing them I understand they aren't humans but they show behaviors of a bond. Be open minded and love the unloved ☺️❤️

⚠️PSA for reptile event-goers⚠️

Holding animals is not a right it is a privilege. These shows are not a petting zoo! It may look like it but I promise you it's not. These animals are delicate and can stress easily if over-handled! A lot of breeders or Vendors don't want their animals handled because we don't know where your hands have been or how you'll react or even worry about the animal's safety and well-being! We care about these animals and if we say no to handling it means NO. Most vendors don't mind touching if you buy. These shows are meant for education and or giving you a new friend to take home. This isn't a PETTING ZOO don't treat it like one. Be respectful of others and vendors and above all THE ANIMALS THE LIVING THINGS at these shows. They are LIVING they stress they feel pain they aren't a toy it's a LIFE. Thank you have a good one!

It's so silly when Leo-like species do this! This is Baymax he is a Eublepharis angramainyu or Iranian Fat-tailed gecko! He is enjoying some water they all lift their heads to help swallow water but they like to blep or keep moving their tongue! Ugh so cute! 🥰
