When we talk about puppy socialisation naturally we think first about our puppy meeting lots other dogs.

Did you know that an equally important (if not more so) part of your puppy’s socialisation process is getting them used to different sights and sounds that will be a regular occurrence for them as they get older. This can include things like:

I’m really pleased to announce some new dates for the next ‘Puppy Training and Socialisation’ courses.

The courses run for 6 weeks and are held outdoors at the beautiful secure dog field Hoof and Woof in Frimley Green.

The start dates are:

⭐️ Saturday 17th August, 1:30-2:15pm
⭐️ Saturday 7th September, 12:30-1:15pm

Over the course of the six weeks we cover the basics of puppy training such as:

🐾 Stay/Wait
🐾 Walking on a loose lead
🐾 Recall
🐾 What good puppy socialisation looks like
🐾 How to deal with common puppy issues such as toilet training, jumping up and biting.

All the training is force-free and run by a fully qualified IMDT dog trainer. Suitable for puppies aged up to 6 months old (must be fully vaccinated).

Keeping cool in the hot weather - With the temperatures remaining high my two are getting plenty of enrichment in place of their usual exercise. With these Kongs I added a few treats, banana, natural yogurt and a couple of sprats for good measure. Pop then in the freezer and they’re a great enrichment activity. The chickens are also struggling in the heat so they’ve got plenty of fresh water, lots of cool shade in their run and a nice cool watermelon to keep them occupied.

Over the course of the 6 weeks we cover all the basics of puppy training such as:

Also included with the course are free puppy treats, a week-by-week puppy socialisation guide and weekly training notes.

Great weekend spent up in Peterborough at the The Dog Trainer School learning all aspects on training dogs to become Assistance Dogs.

Assistance Dogs are used to assist people with a wide variety of physical and mental disabilities, injuries and illnesses. They can help with everyday practical tasks like medication reminders, picking up dropped objects or finding keys to more complex tasks such as providing grounding behaviours to their owners.

Did you know that Assistance Dogs don’t necessarily have to be provided by a specialist organisation or charity? They can be owner-trained in conjunction with an experienced trainer who’s familiar with the various different routes to take to have a qualified and assessed Assistance Dog.

Starts on Saturday 22nd June, 1:30pm. A brand new 6 week training course for puppies aged 6 months and under (puppies must be fully vaccinated to take part).

Over the course of the 6 weeks we cover all the basics of puppy training such as recall, walking on a loose lead, stay/wait and how to handle common puppy issues such as toilet training, play biting etc.
