Update: Mr. Orange is being adopted by Kelsey & her new husband. This is amazing because Kelsey adopted Daisy, Sukee's littermate 5 years ago. Now, from Sukee's last litter, they'll have a Sukee puppy. 💕

Hi all. We had a sudden opening.

Mr. Oranges's family had a family emergency. Unfortunately, adopting a puppy will need to wait. We are sad, but glad they're making this responsibly hard choice.

So Mr. Orange is now looking for his furever home. 💓

We are all gaining. We had our dew claws removed last night. We're becoming professional "Scooters", and easily making our way from one side of the whelping box to the other. Mama Sukee can no longer hide from us!

This morning, we added a few more newbies.

*The Slide: this introduces is to our 1st step, incline/decline, putting being on a platform ABOVE other things.

*The Crate: this gives us CHOICE to sleep/play or just chill in here. The doors are secured OPEN at this point.

*The Adventure Box: this helps us by touching us as we run through. It's full of different textures that sound / feel different.

*The Tiny Tunnel: this helps us with confines spaces, wobbly surfaces, understanding the concept of outta sight, but not gone.

*Misc. Toys: some are for chewing. Our teeth ARE coming in so our gums hurt (so do my toes, ankles, & pant legs lol). Others toys are for other types of stimulus.

Who doesn't love a teddy bear? We use Mr. Bear to help our pups feel more confident with unknown appearances. Of course ...

Who doesn't love a teddy bear?

We use Mr. Bear to help our pups feel more confident with unknown appearances. Of course they're also exposed to actual humans, but this adds another positive experience.

Mr. Bear will appear in different places, wearing different hats, clothes, etc. Yesterday he had his yellow hard hat on... must've been fresh from his construction gig. 😄

I think this shows how this litter feels about accepting him into the pack. 💞

What's your smell?

Today we're interacting with smelly things. Smelling is the first way puppies can take in information about their world.

Some of the scents are from our families (i.e., the chocolate/ mint) & some are ones our dogs may interact with as adult dogs in environments which could create some fear or hesitation (i.e., rubbing alcohol typically used at the vet).

We want to provide an opportunity for our pups to CHOOSE to interact with these scents. That's why they're in something that can roll away easily.

We also started using our mouths! We're licking and trying to bite. This is all good stuff. Our mouths add another layer of information intake.

When you find something your dog LOVES to do... Keep tapping into it. Grandma Adira LOVES to swim & do agility. It took 5 minutes to show her the paddle board. Her answer....HECK YEAH!!

Feeding from a bowl is sooo yesterday! Today Halimah is having to search for her scattered kibble. It's in her stuffable toys, under her blankey, hidden in the soft fluffy fingers of her bed. This process is working her nose, her eyes, even her ears when she makes the kibble filled toys roll. It's engaging her brain. Nevermind the fact that it takes her 20 minutes to eat her lunch this way vs the 2 seconds it takes when eating out of a bowl. Be creative, have fun, your pup will appreciate it. #slowfeedingfun
