So I'm doing a challenge this year called no missed days, which strives to inspire dog owners to train their dogs everyday even if just for a moment.

This means I have lots of video of training sessions in my pajamas with my hair a mess. You know what though? The dogs don't care.

Sora has come a very long way with her nail trims! Despite raising her myself and playing with her paws from the day she came out of her mother, she was still a bit sensitive about her toes being messed with.

Sora is 14 months old and we've been working on her rear end awareness. :)

Here are three skills to help our pups know where their rear feet are, and strengthen their motor skills to put those feet down where they want them. This is really important for sports dogs, but also beneficial to any dog that runs around and jumps on, over, and through things. Like logs. Or tables. Or counters.

Recall recall recall! Shoku had the opportunity to mosey out the door and the garage down the driveway today, and thanks to practicing recall often he came right back when I realized he was about to go on a walkabout without me 😅

He got so many snacks back in the house, and then we both went on this walk because what a good boy.

Sora is doing REALLY well with her dog communication. Here she offers a really nice play bow. :)

Shoku, the big boy with the red and gray collar, is really socially awkward, but Sora can read him and responds appropriately.

Shoku is awkward due in large part to his puppyhood spent with with an adult dog that had degenerative neuropathy, so he had a lot of mixed signals. I've been working hard to ensure Sora gets exposure to other dogs outside of Shoku and Renka so that she does not learn the same awkwardness. :)

After the AMCA National we haven't worked on Sora's show dog skills much, instead focusing on good House Dog skills! She is a year old now, so today I got her back into show dog mode and wow!

Miles and Renka did a good job.

She is blowing coat and lean, so those legs go on for days. I'm excited to see her at maturity in another 2 years, and I'm treasuring every moment between now and then. ❤️

I wanted to work on relaxation protocol with Renka, so I put Sora in her crate with her lunch. Well. Renka also wanted her lunch.

I had surgery yesterday and the dogs are keeping me company
