🌺Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
It’s really starting to heat up out here so today’s Hawaiian word is kauwela (pronounced: “cow-vela”), which means summer.
What fun things do you have planned with your furry friends this summer? 😎🐾☀️

From our ohana to yours, Happy Fourth of July!! 🇺🇸🐾🗽

“We have had 2 wonderful experiences with Dr. Kho. Our first visit was after our dog started limping and whining out of nowhere. Dr. Kho returned our call quickly and was able to do a mobile visit the next day. She is so kind and patient and our dog took to the treatment so well. We are huge fans and cannot recommend her enough! Thank you, Dr Kho!" -Colleen H.
We know that it can be so hard to see your pet in pain, which is why we make every effort to see your pet as soon as possible. Call today to schedule your appointment with Dr. Kho!

🌺 Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
In honor of our SECOND anniversary, we are revisiting today’s Hawaiian word, aloha (pronounced: “ah-low-hah”), which means compassion, love and affection.
Aloha is most often used as a simple greeting. However, did you know that there are actually no words in the English language that denote its true meaning? Compassion, love, and affection are commonly used to describe the essence of aloha but it is also a way of living that emphasizes treating others with kindness and respect. To do something with “aloha” means to do it with your soul.
Mahalo nui loa (thank you so very much) for supporting us these last couple of years! We look forward to helping you and your furry loved ones live your best lives together for many years to come 🌺🌈💛

Check out the full testimonial: “Our oldest cat, Thomas, has been dealing with some pretty bad arthritis in his lower back. Dr. Kho explained the process and benefits and took her time to earn Thomas' trust. He did well and tolerated the procedure easily, distracted by some tasty pureed treats. In the days following, Thomas seemed to have a little more energy, was a little more playful with his brothers and took the stairs to the basement and back up without issue, which he hasn't done in awhile. We're looking forward to our future appointments, to see how much we can improve Thomas' quality of life.” Jeni C.
We are so grateful to be a part of Thomas’ journey and he is a such a good patient for his treatments!

🌺 Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
Today’s Hawaiian word is e komo mai (pronounced: “eh koh-moh-my”) which means welcome! We’d like to take a moment to welcome all the new members of our Aloha Veterinary Acupuncture ohana, which continues to grow all the time. We are so grateful for all of you ❤️

🌺 Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
We know this time of year can be tough for some people with the short days and cold weather, so today’s Hawaiian phrase is a friendly reminder to noho me ka hau’oli (pronounced: “noh-ho may kah how-OH-lee”) which means be happy!
Snuggle up with your fur babies and noho me ka hau’oli, spring will be here soon!

Check out the full testimonial: “Dr. Kho is amazing! She is knowledgeable, gentle, patient, and professional. She’s been giving my paralyzed dog Charlie acupuncture treatments for almost a year and it’s become a staple in our routine. Since Charlie gets around in wheels, he puts a lot of pressure on his front shoulders/legs. Acupuncture has helped us to manage pain and soreness, and Charlie always acts like a young pup again after his treatments! My only complaint is that Charlie likes Dr Kho more than he likes me.”
We LOVE our visits with Charlie and especially love that we can help him feel his best! Follow .on.wheels if you’d like be part of his journey!

Today’s Hawaiian phrase is another repeat but we wanted to wish you all hauʻoli makahiki hou (pronounced: “how-OH-lee mah-kah-hee-kee ho”) or Happy New Year! Hope you all had a great start to the new year this week!

We just LOVE getting feedback like this! We are so grateful that we can help make your furry family members’ golden years truly golden 💛

🌺 Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
Today’s Hawaiian word is kahu (pronounced: “kah-hoo”) which means honored attendant or guardian. Kahu is used to describe someone who is a pet owner because it implies a deeper, more spiritual connection. Rather than simply being the owner, we are the guardians and protectors of these cherished animals.
To all the kahu out there, thank you for everything you do!

🌺 Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺
This one is a repeat but today’s Hawaiian word is ohana (pronounced: “oh-hah-nah”) which means family. In the spirit of ohana, we want to give a shout out to for their opening weekend! Maybe you saw our reel earlier this week with Louisville Veterinary Urgent Care but did you know that Dr. Kho’s husband, Dr. Tyler Pelfrey, is the veterinarian who owns and operates it? If your pet is in need of urgent, but not emergency, care and your regular veterinarian is not available, please consider LVUC to get your pet feeling better quicker ❤️ Check out LVUC’s social media pages and website for more information!
It’s going to be a busy weekend for this ohana but we hope that you all enjoy some time with yours!

Check out the full testimonial from one of our clients:
“I truly appreciated Dr. Kho's patience, comfort and gentleness towards my cat. She was so sweet to him, I could tell he took an immediate liking to her. She definitely has a way with animals and it was nice to see that she treated my cat like her own. I also appreciated the fact that she took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and everything she was doing. It was definitely a great experience and we look forward to our next treatment!”
Acupuncture treatments on our kitty friends can sometimes be more challenging but Beeloo is such a great patient for his visits! We love having Beeloo and Aneela as part of our Aloha Veterinary Acupuncture ohana 🐱💕

✨ New on the blog: Think Twice Before Gifting a Pet This Holiday Season ✨The holiday season is often seen as a perfect time for giving, with many considering the addition of a furry friend to their family or gifting one to others. However, Aloha Veterinary Acupuncture urges you to think twice before gifting a pet during the holidays. Let's explore why this seemingly generous gesture might not be the best idea…🐾 Long-Term Commitment: Pets require a long-term commitment of time, attention, and financial resources.🐾 Lifestyle Mismatch: The recipient’s lifestyle may not be conducive to pet ownership.🐾 Allergies or Phobias: The recipient might have allergies or an uneasiness around animals.🐾 Post-Holiday Regrets: The charm of a holiday gift can fade, leading to pets being neglected or abandoned. These are just a few things to consider but there is so much more that goes into making the decision to add a new furry member to the family.
