Grateful to have attended the IAED conference this year. 24 hours of continuing education packed full of great information. From treating protuberances, bitting, TMJ, sinuses, deciduous & wolf teeth , EOTRH, anatomy, equilibration and improving equine performance.

One of the best parts about this job is you NEVER stop learning. I strive to keep up to date on the latest research and technology so that I can provide your horse with the best dental care. Thankful to be apart of an association who requires you to complete a certain amount of continuing education. It keeps us accountable and up to date. Please be sure to find a provider in your area who is certified and putting in the extra training hours.

This industry is continually changing and I promise my clients that I will not fall behind. Your equines deserve the best! Excited for what’s ahead in 2025. 🙌

Take a look at this transformation!! 👀
These pictures were taken exactly 3 weeks apart. A good example of how important dental care is for the overall health and well being of our equine friends.

This ponies owner is very well educated on maintenance and had been getting the teeth done regularly before my visit. But, a complete mouth balance was not being conducted. One of the main goals when doing dentistry is to maximize contact between the horse or ponies teeth to restore the TMJs (Temporomandibular Joint) function.

This pony had little to no contact in the molars, extreme hooks, some missing teeth and a severe underbite. His mouth was not functional and causing him to loose weight. We were able to carry out a complete mouth balance and I am pleased with the results!

Can you spot the wolf tooth? ✰

Wolf teeth are more commonly found in the upper jaw but they can appear in the lower jaw of some horses. This horse had 1 lower wolf tooth, which was extracted. As they can still cause discomfort and interfere with the bit. A complete dental exam is so important as little things like this can be missed!

The end product of a COMPLETE mouth balance! This mare should be feeling quite a bit of relief after her dental.

It is vital to your horses’ well being that they receive proper dental care, this includes the 3 point balance. Which means, equal pressure on the TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint), molars and incisors. What does this do for your horse? It means that the mouth is able to function naturally as it should.

Unfortunately, more often than not, new clients are often surprised when they see a practitioner work on the incisor teeth. But in order to do a correct job, and create a properly functioning mouth for your horse all practitioners need to strive for the 3 point balance!

Big Johnny, a gentle giant!
Johnny had some excessive rostral hooks and overlong incisors that were preventing him from grinding his feed properly. We were able to balance his mouth properly and give him molar contact - he should be feeling much better! Thanks for trusting me with this handsome guy. 🐴
