Daisy will be taking classes from tomorrow 🤪
Had to bring my dog training firm voice out but she recovered and kind of followed instructions. Training the 3 year old is 100% harder than dogs but she’s taken an interest in being involved in the dogs and wants to show him on Sunday!
I absolutely love children being involved and are always welcome at classes as long as well behaved. We encourage the family to be on the same page. He did get lots of treats and this was totally unplanned so off they went!
Our adults have been working really hard on their group stays & recalls. A couple of these dogs struggle with their stays but they’ve worked so hard together.
Today they smashed it 👏🏻👏🏻
Had a lot of messages regarding loose lead walking. I hope this video helps, it’s not brilliant as Evie doesn’t pull. But it shows the level of focus and how to walk/reward. Your dog should be walking with you not walking you. It is hard at the start but just keep stopping and lots of praise/encouragement 😊
I threw her toy to mimic a distraction on a walk. Hope this helps some of you! Harnesses are great for dogs that don’t pull but if you’ve got a big powerful dog it’s where all their power is.
Treat bags are great as they know where the foods coming from. She did get her toy at the end as a reward 😀
Ignore all the stuff in the garden had a day of training and building new bits for classes 🤣
We’ve had to find new ways to occupy the dogs in lockdown. Bubbles seem to be a favourite of Evies 🛁
My isolation goal was to smash the weaves.
Tonight we achieved it 🙌🏻
Evie has always struggled to go ahead and away from me, so to carry foot perfect weaves with me crossing behind her is a huge achievement. I will upload trick videos been so busy!
So sorry guys!!
Sorry I’ve forgotten to upload past few days! Here is another. Evie picked it up super quick, it’s not the neatest but you get the idea. Once she understands you can build on it and neaten it up 🙂
Day 3: Send Away 🐾
It’s all abit of fun! Hope your all ok 😍
Here’s an example of a sendaway outside! Obviously we made it abit more interesting with jumps 🐶
Here’s your first trick! BOW 🐾
Evie did pick it up exceptionally quick, slow it down if you need to. You may need to really push your hand back like I did the first couple of times.
It’s all abit of fun to keep them busy. I hope this video makes sense. Send me a message if you need me to explain/break it down even more. 🐶
So proud of all my classes this week! Honestly every single class Friday & Saturday have worked their socks off!
BUT after weeks of practicing my Saturday adults CRACKED THIS!!!
Would you believe 2 of these have only just moved out of puppy class? And One of these dogs is a rescue that struggles with other dogs? Hard work pays off! ❤️😍
Look at little Alby?! How amazing is this?
2 weeks ago we started this!
A fantastic example of ‘bed’!
Little superstar 🌟
I always get asked ‘Is it all force free?’
Everything I do is always backed up with reward. The minute I get a hotdog out or a ball they know ‘Right what we doing mum?’ And they can’t wait for the next instruction! It’s finding what they love and use it, if the love chicken, use it. Love a squeaky toy, use it! Some dogs just love a good old belly scratch. Anything can be a reward it doesn’t just have to be a treat or ball!
This is my rescue dog, she had awful fear aggression. To the point if she saw a dog and was on lead she would snap at me. She was frightened and usually that’s all a reactive dog is. Frightened!
We’ve worked together for over 3 1/2 years now, she doesn’t need to worry about anything. She trusts me 1000% and I trust her. In return we can train anywhere, she wants that reward. The reward is so much better than anything else. She doesn’t meet to worry about those kids riding bikes or that dog running around. She won’t ever like dogs and she won’t ever like EVERY person but by working together we’ve taken that fear away, she no longer needs to react!
I’ve said about the ‘trick titles’ in class. This was my submission for our first one. There is a HUGE list of things you can teach to earn the points! If anybody wants to do these I’m happy to help video and help you submit it. Also happy to work towards any of the exercises etc too!
