Here's something I simply had to share despite the late hour (2am 😬!)
The main feature that drew me to European polecats is their incredible intelligence. They quietly observe then just seem to do things flawlessly clearly fully thought out prior to acting!
Yesterday Baby Haku (high content Hybrid, British bred) discovered that he was finally big enough to gain access to the bathtub area. There he discovered the shower head had water droplets, as he was licking them up I turned the tap so he could get a proper drink with flowing water. Later on in the day he again jumped up and I turned the tap for him letting him drink. Then just now I went in the bathroom to wash before bed... He again jumped up to the bathtub... But instead of going standing at the head of the shower he went right up to the tap, gripped it in his teeth and began to turn!! I had to drop everything to race and get my phone to get this very lucky snapshot of him mid turn and the water flowing out of the shower!

These little animals are so very very clever they are constantly observing and thinking up solutions to problems they encounter.

Now if he could learn to turn the tap off after that would be great haha, water bill is going to be sky high haha.

What a wonderful capture.
When kits eyes open (4-5 weeks) they become much more of a challenge for mum as their curiosity to explore more pulls at them.

Mum and Dad still have their hands full as the Polecat kits are still running wild on the Dusk until Dawn photography experience .

Hello Everyone, Welcome to my page. This is a Little bit of a premature page as I'm not currently breeding however I wanted to lock the name down as a ferretry name as I feel it is the optimum name for an Eu polecat ferretry!

My Name is Zac Leathem, I have owned ferrets for multiple years now however Its only in the last 2 years that my fascination and love of the natural european polecat bloomed. My plan in the future is to import european polecats from various parts of Europe with the eventual goal of hopefully being permitted to release genetically pure polecats in the wild to help boost not just the populations but the genetics of wild populations who have mixed with loose domestic ferrets. Along side that I would like to aim to create a totally seperate line of companion animals with the goal of creating healthy animals with the look of the natural european polecat but aiming for an animal that bonds and actually enjoys a connection with people. The goal for both lines will be for genetically Healthy animals with a very good longevity good agility and intelligence. This will mean every animal having health tests prior to breeding and great care being taken in the selection of the breeding animals temperament too as both lines require quite different things.

I will never be a breeder who produces multiple litters every single year as I do not feel this is beneficial to the animals or the current over breeding situation. I am personally of the belief that all litters deserve to have the focus on them in their raising and that every animal have security of a home for life before it is even born.

Like I say at the start this post, this page is a bit premature but I would also like to use this page to share information about European polecats in the mean time and use it as an education platform.

This page is purely to showcase european polecats and Hybrids of varying content so although I have other ferrets (as some may already know) they will not be shared here so as not to distract or confuse the purpose of the page.
