New Crypto Vaccine - Bovilis Cryptium🐄💉
🔸Cryptosporidium is a parasite that can cause devastating outbreaks of scour in calves usually between 14-21 days old
🔸Clinical signs include yellow/green diarrhoea, abdominal pain, dehydration, lethargy and possibly death
🔸Long term consequences - severely reduced daily live weight gain, delayed breeding maturity, increased susceptibility to other diseases
🔸A calf sick with crypto can excrete millions of oocysts but new studies show only 19 oocysts are needed to cause illness
🔸Crypto is zoonotic and can infect humans
🔸Prevention includes correct colostrum management, maintain hygiene standards in calving pens, disinfection of all feeding equipment and now Vaccination!
🟣Bovilis Cryptium is the first of its kind, designed to provide protection from day of birth
🟣Pregnant heifers and cows should be vaccinated between 12-3 weeks before calving to provide immunity for their calves
🟣Protection depends on adequate intake of colostrum and transition milk, ideally transition milk should be fed for 5 days

Mighty Moe ❤️ This handsome gentleman was in for his second puppy vaccine today to keep him safe against the following dangerous diseases:

🐶 leptospirosis
🐶 Distemper
🐶 Hepatitis
Dogs, cats and rabbits all need annual boosters to keep their Antibody levels up to ensure their safety when out exploring and meeting other pets!

UPDATE: PLACEMENT SECURED 🤗❤️

URGENT APPEAL ⚠️🏡🙏 Outdoor mouser home required for 3 cats (9 months old).

Unfortunately, these three cats have had a genuine threat posed against their lives - and are urgently seeking a new outdoor home for their safety. They have always been together since they were born, so it would be ideal to keep them together if possible as they are all quite close.

As they are only partially socialised, not friendly to unknown strangers and have only ever lived outdoors, they are seeking an outdoor mouser home who can provide them with some shelter and supplementary feeding. They are excellent hunters (1 female and 2 males), and are bonded well to their carer who has taken care of them since they were kittens - so they may with time bond to a new carer, but will likely never be house cats so this shouldn't be expected of them.

These cats were all neutered, FIV/FeLV disease tested and vet checked when they were taken to the vets by our volunteers when they were younger (they are now older than in the photos). Before going to a new home, we will provide them with an updated health check, flea worm treatment and one off vaccination.

Please email [email protected] if you could provide them a new home outdoors.

PLEASE NOTE: they will need somewhere to be safely enclosed for a time initially, so they do not become lost (E.g. A garage, barn, shed...).

Pet Bereavement Support Group

Do you or anyone you care about need a little extra support dealing with the loss of your beloved pet?

Losing our animal companions is one of the hardest things we go through in life. Their loss is oftentimes harder than that of the humans in our lives because we spent so much time with them, confide so much in them and receive unconditional love right back.
