In contrast to yesterday's unhappy post i wanted to turn it around. We've flipped over to a new month and it's the month of love ❤️ so I have decided that every dog groomed between 1st and 14th February will be automatically entered into a free prize draw to win an extra large mystery hamper of natural dog treats thanks to the Doggy Deli Co.
I will draw a dogs name at random on the evening of Friday 14th February. Postage has been included in the prize so it will be delivered directly to your door for your pup to enjoy 🥰

The lovely Hank here looks how I feel. Why you might ask? Well, today I have had a client for the 2nd time this month cancel their dogs groom on the day of the appointment. No big deal right? Wrong! I have now lost £150 this month from this 1 client which leaves me very unhappy and rather stressed. I don't have a 2nd home in the south of France, I don't drive around in high end cars....when I don't get paid it directly affects my income, my ability to pay my bills, put food on my table and care for my dogs.
This cannot continue and if I have another incidence like this I will have no option but to charge people upfront at the time of booking. That way if people would rather go out for the day or cancel last minute I am still paid for the time reserved for your pet in my diary.
Small businesses need your support to survive and thrive.

I LOVE ❤️ Lola ❤️ she is the sweetest, sassiest little lady i know. She loves to get dirty down in Devon but scrubs up like a princess and she is honestly one of my favourite girls to groom because she smiles at me any time I comb her face with a twinkle in her eye.

Well, by some miracle, I've made it through to the last working day of the year. I want to thank each and every one of you who have supported my business. As many of you know, I have moved back in August and I have had to make the difficult decision to let some further away clients go. It was not an easy one and I will miss the dogs and their owners tremendously. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful holiday season and best wishes for 2025.

Just wanted to hop on and say a big thank you to all my clients who have had to be cancelled so far. Unfortunately it seems I've bagged myself this new strain of covid and I can't lie it's absolutely kicking my butt. Obviously I don't want to give this to anyone so until I'm testing negative I am having to cancel and just play each day by ear. Thanks for everyone's patience and I promise I'll have everyone rebooked as soon as I can.

I have had in the past 2 days 3 people say I'm too expensive. That's OK, I'm not designed to fit every budget, and I knew that when I started my business. I was always aiming for a luxury service and for people who truly care about their dogs' welfare as a priority. Here are a few of the things I have to pay out for before I even take a wage! To cover absolutely everything, I should be charging £83 per hour! I understand that's not affordable to most people, and so I have 2 choices, 1) use lesser quality products to increase profit margins 2) don't save for holiday and sick pay. I refuse to compromise on the product quality for my clients, and so I don't get any paid time off. If I'm not working, I'm not earning. It's as simple as that.

Pippin 💝 he hasn't always been the easiest dog to groom but he has grown and flourished. He now gives me kisses during his grooms, he knows I won't hurt him and I give him lots of praise when he gets it right. I genuinely feel so proud of Pippin and the progress he has made 😊

Halfway point....bathed and dried, and what I can say is the facial shampoo really seemed to break that dirt down with ease. When blow drying there was a subtle aroma of the strawberry 🍓 and vanilla shampoo which was very pleasant and great of you don't wish to use perfume. Overall the product cleaned well, hasn't irritated my hands at all (huge plus!) And the coat looked, felt and smelled fantastic. ⚠️PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️ please listen up, as a pet groomer I pride myself on being city & Guilds qualified, first aid trained for animals and people, insured and have 16 years experience. I have travelled to Russia and Malaysia in pursuit of furthering my skills and attend masterclasses all over the UK to consistently better my skills to bring my A game to your pets grooming experience. If ever you are not happy, let's talk and work through the problem. If you need advice I always give this freely and have saved many clients wasted money on unnecessary treatments. What I won't tolerate is being accused of cutting dogs or people implying I do not give the best care to their animal. All pets need regular grooming end of. Owning a pet is a luxury and not a right. If money is tight we can cut the hair shorter to give you longer between appointments but allowing hair to grow long or become matted then cutting short comes with the risk of irritation and as the pet owner you need to be prepared for this and ready to cater for your pets needs.
